Revisiting Seattle: When the Saints Nearly Broke the Legion of Boom

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; It's really as simple as home field. Whomever holds the #1 can run the table. SH12 is right though, that is a tough stretch for us....

People should quit assuming that we're going to get HFA. We've been 10-6 and had a #2 seed, and we've been 11-5 (twice) and had a #5 seed. We've been 13-3 and had HFA, and we've also been 13-3 and hosted a wildcard game at home. HFA depends just as much on other teams as it does how many games we win.

We don't need HFA to win it all............but it helps.

all year sea cluks allowed to cheat by mugging all the teams they played wrs. tes .etc.everyone knows sea punks old rogers prefer team in superbowl.the one play lance did very minor push off to catch pass it looked like the refs almost broke arms to throw flags what a joke.Fair refs saints easy win.same for pattsys game you could show tackle holding junior kneck in choke hold an also by waist band of junior on brady last sec td pass,as a training film for refs when to throw flag.if flag thrown as should have been plus several other strange calls game over saints win an at home for playoffs nope old roger shafted the team all year long.

Can't blame Seattle if the refs look the other way. The thing is, we can play the same game. Our secondary is plenty physical too, and having Byrd on the back end of the defense is going to free up all the other DB's to get even more aggressive and knock around those WR's on the line of scrimmage.

Point is if saints secondary played like sea chicks refs would have wore out themselfs throwing flags.Think when bush tryed 15yard flag.

year in year out since Payton arrived there has not been a team in the NFL that we could not go toe to toe with in the dome. Even the Super Bowl champions over the last decade.

Your exactly right!! I believe we have a very hard hitting secondary now, with turnover potential.

yes an also on the road if the playing field is even.Never underestimate the REFS an flags.saints were off to hot start last year when i think teams were told with a wink an nod its ok to mugg jimmmy think about if the other team has to play within normal rules jimmy was un stopable.what old roger to do have to stop Saints having home field thru out play offs.Jimmy at 6-6/270 an 4.5 sd very hard to even slow down if your secondary have to play normal an if you double or triple team him like some teams did then you open up other options for Brees.

It all depends on Byrds injury. If it lingers then production will drop. Vaccaro should be even better though. If Byrd can start at 100% some people are gonna get waylayed.
