A swansong for Jim

You don't have to be a genius to read the subtext in Coach Hasletts press conference.

He is ready to leave, and so is his family.

In the modern era little time is spent on details like character, integrity, or effort. The measuring stick is results. The results have failed to arrive. So Jim quietly knows it is time to leave. Before you go, you deserve to hear a few words of praise.

Our first EVER playoff win, kudos for that.
Our D-line winning the Tough Guy award from Bradshaw, thanks
The saints becoming an offensive powerhouse, with a vertical passing game, who would have thunk that?
Allowing our expectations to soar so high, priceless!!!
Being the hardest working coach in the NFL, all those 18 hour days to try to make this team better, one day it will pay off Jim.
Too bad it won't be here.
I personally bear you no real grudge, only the brunt of my frustration because the team didn't deliver on it's promise.
You WILL coach again, although you might have to fill Crennels position for a year or so.
I suggest you take the time to really learn what mistakes you made, and bring your best effort to the table next time.
Unfortunately, I will remain a Saints fan, so I will have to cheer against you when the time comes
But I will hope for the best for you.
If this was your first effort, then believe me, you are head and shoulders above the majority. Much heralded College coaches, which everyone around here loves, have consistently showed an inability to get results.
You got results. It's just too bad that your leadership became muddled. Learn from it, remember it's your job at stake, the players have an uncanny knack for finding their next paycheck!!!
So goodbye, and lots of luck, around here we will begin to hold our breath that ownership will do the right thing, and replace you with a strong leader, like you were in your first couple of years, then maybe we can rise above the pack again.

A swansong for Jim

Good post, let us not forget some of the good things Jim brought here, before the implosion.
