It was kind of funny at the end of the interview when the rain started to come down harder... "ya'll still talking, I'll walk away whenever you guys are done" - Champ Bailey.

Awesome knowledge of the game which he can give to our younger players...... Anything he gives us on the field at his age is a plus.....

I don't care how old and crippled this guy is I think it was a good move and everything he has said and done since convinces me even more. Plus like I have posted in the past, he has the potential to surprise a lot of doubters on the field even if you discount the positive impact on younger players and the locker room. If the coaching staff doesn't over use him so he can stay fresh and healthy he could pay HUGE dividends on the field. I've liked this pickup from day one and like it more every day. He is a true professional and All Pro.

We got owned by a Rams team with a 38 year old CB who was not even close to Champ. Champ can still play on a high level if he remains healthy. If we save him for redzone and special teams he could make it the whole season. Last season was too much for him being called on to be a starter. He can do it but likely won't make it long haul.

Payton said today that he believes Bailey will start next to Keenan Lewis. Patrick Robinson will be a good nickel back and backup if Bailey doesn't make it 16 games. Champ Bailey has maybe the best hands on the roster. Couple that with Jairus Byrd who also has hands like a WR and our secondary could be a real headache for opposing QBs.
