Parity? Hardly!

OK I'm sick of hearing about parity in the NFL. Why is the media portraying this year's NFL as the posterboy for NFL parity problems?

When I think parity I think nearly every team at 8-8 with a few above and a few below.

Thats not exactly the picture of parity this year fellas.

Half of the teams in the NFL are either 9-3 and better, or 4-8 or worse.

Seven teams are 9-3 or better
Nine teams are 4-8 or worse.

How is that parity? What would it look like without parity? For the most part it looks like the same old solid teams, New England, Philly, Pittsburgh, Indy and mostly the same old lousy teams, Cleveland, New Orleans, Arizona, Washington.

Right on the money!

But, look at it this way. Boston, Philly, Pittsburg, Seattle, Atlanta, New York, Houston, Jacksonville all have respectable to hot teams. What do they have in common? BIG MARKET!!!

What the NFL wants is a core group of BIG MARKET teams who will sell Bud Lite and Miller Lite to the 20-30 y/o male market. This parity crap is about making TV money and selling beer. Cigarettes too, if the Communists like Waxman, Kennedy, Boxer, Pelosi, Schumer and Clinton hadn\'t encouraged giving the trial lawyers money to kill that industry.

While I love the Saints, what I have realized is that the Beer and gambling interests in this country control the NFL, NBA, and MLB markets. It\'s all about image, not parity.

The NFL is not concerned with selling beer...

Thier advertisment times during games are simply sold to the highest bidder...

It just so happens that the people in charge of selling the beer..know that young people drink...and they like football...

It doesn\'t matter whta they advertise..as long as they pay for it...I\'m sure the league could care less if it were tampons or bottle necks

You are right, of course. What I was getting to, was that the League looks at where the most stuff is sold; i.e. Los Angeles, Baltimore, Boston, Philly, Houston, Chicago, Dallas, Washington, San Francisco, Jacksonville, Denver, Miami, and New York. Therefore, it is within the league\'s best interest to keep those city\'s teams hot and competetive and let the rest of the country sit in the toilet.

I was just stating that the league looks at what sells and then markets the commercial time to the highest bidder. I\'ll guarantee you that you don\'t see ads for tampons at the superbowl.
