How are all the rookies looking so far?

Here's a little article I found from a write at The Advocate going over each rookie so far

It's obvious that a few will be on a Superbowl team this year.

Can't wait to watch them through the preseason

It's good to hear that SJB has adapted mentally, and that his issues lie with just technique. He'll have plenty of time to fix that. SJB probably wouldn't have gotten a ton of playing time this year anyways, so it works out for the best. Also, I'm pretty excited for Ronald Powell. Looking forward to watching him this preseason.

That was a great read with a link to other articles about the Saints.

Except for Cooks not an exciting draft class in my opinion. I don't think Baptiste will pan out. Sunseri and Powell will probably be special teams contributors this year but neither will probably ever start for us although Powell possibly could because he can rush the passer. I sure wish we'd have taken Jarvis Landry instead of Baptiste. First he's a solid kick returner(had a great punt return in 1st preseason game) which we need terribly and he's a special teams demon covering kicks too. He had the biggest hands of all WR in the draft, caught every ball he touched in college, is very strong and aggressive is NFL ready today and with Cooks could've given us maybe the best WR duo in the NFL for years to come.

Saw an interview with Strief where he was talking about Baptiste as the CB that makes the most plays in 2-minute drill.

come on give SJB some time. this is his third year at CB.

just wait till he makes and INT that drops your jaw. you will be hooping howling.

then he will be caught out of position and you will be throwing things at the screen.

Such is the learning curve of a rookie CB. We all should have expected this. this pick is all about huge upside as seen through the scouts eyes. me in the second round make this pick? nope do not have the balls to do it. but heck i can live with it. i think

risk taken now lets give it time to work out.

now as for the rest of the picks from here on down i am less patient about.

Im a LSU Homer. I spent the whole month before the draft working out how we could realistically take an LSU player with every pick we had. Payton got his toy Cooks in the first and Ryan got one in the second. Fair is fair. On paper, Baptiste is Richard Sherman's clone. They even both switched from WR to corner. When I've watched his highlights, what jumps out immediately to me is that he has good hands, catches away from his body very comfortably and that alone can make a corner with average coverage skills very dangerous. We have Cooks, Stills, Colston and GrahAm. What we REALLY need is a 2nd corner. I'm ready for week 1 otherwise I'll keep finding meaningless junk to whine about.
