Drew Brees?

Won't happen. The Chargers, with $21 million in salary-cap space, will slap the franchise tag on him, meaning any team that signs Brees will have to give up two first-round picks. Arizona isn't that interested. San Diego will likely keep Brees and Rivers for another season. The gluttons.

That leaves veterans like Aaron Brooks, who has fallen out of favor in New Orleans, or Brad Johnson, who's no longer the starter in Tampa Bay. Both players likely will be cut by their respective teams, but, really, who cares?

No cutting.

If Denny Green wants Brooks he\'s going to have to trade for him.

Brooks has good trade value and it\'s stupid to let him walk and get nothing for him.

Agreed. Trade him to Arizona. We could get a first(possibly) or maybe Karlos Dansby for defense. Arizona will have a relatively high pick also. Give them Brooks and our 3rd for their first. I would say throw in Sullivan, but they may not stop laughing until after the draft.

Arizona doesn\'t have that good of a buffet. Sully may be insulted. Also, I don\'t believe Denny Green is that stupid as to want Fumbles the Clown as his #1. Brooks as trade material warrants a low 3rd to high 4th based on his performance as a leader and as a team player. I don\'t believe Green would make that mistake unless he got Fumbles at a bargain basement price. :P

Green took a chance with Culpepper, and he fumbled a lot for a while too. He also realized Culpepper had a Randy Moss. With Fitzgerald and Boldin, he may feel he has the platers to make Brooks better. This is the guy who also used Randall Cunningham and had them a game away from the Superbowl. I think he may take a look, especially with how unsettled he is at his qb position.

Great point!!

We can only hope. I don\'t see Brooks in the same league with either Cunningham or Culpepper.

Brooks is like Qunicy Carter. without the drug problem. Or, so we think!

Cut him to the bone. Brooks has been on a free ride based on his own hype. He will get better as his next contract approaches. Watch.

As for his replacement, anyone would be better!

Brooks is not in the league with Culpepper now, but a coupel of years ago they both put up numbers but made dumb mistakes. Culpepper has grown up, Brooks has not. Culpepper surpassed Brooks, but Green helped that along. I am hoping he sees something in Aaroon that may wanna give him a shot so we can get rid of him. Basically, I am grasping at straws.

DB,

Do you have a link so I can check this out. I\'d like to study more about the rumor.

Is it a fan site, forum or news page?
