Too much to let go
It seems to be pretty well resolved there will be no head coaching change in New Orleans.
Firing Jim Haslett along with hiring a new coach and a new staff would burden owner Tom Benson for around $10-12 million. Benson met with Haslett last week, and the sentiment was for Haslett to stay. Paying out that kind of money isn't timely because the state of Louisiana has been lax in paying the guarantees from the most recent lease restructuring.
A bad finish would poison those chances, and the team responded Sunday with a 27-13 victory over the Cowboys. That helped Haslett's cause.
Changes will have to be made on Haslett's staff after the season.

I do agree, I think a major problem we have is with the 2 coordinators. However, how long do you think it will take to turn this team around, by bringing in new coordinators, with new schemes?? The moronic players on this team are about as bright as a solar eclipse, and they\'ll have to start learning a new system?? Major rebuilding era straight ahead, 3-5 years minimum. Unless we get a GM who knows his head from his a$$, and can evaluate some talent with good moves.

We can blame it all on the assistants and GM but haslett as a coach should see that the talent level especially on defense is about as bad as it can get. If you are a defensive minded coach why in the world are you so bad on defense. Maybe we will get lucky and he will just resign. I feel sorry for him but he has to be burnt out and needs to take a brake from coaching and maybe go to a college team to get a little credibility back in a year or two.
