OMG WTF Defense!!!!
 

Man our defense has been horrible. No pass rush. Poor coverage.No players making plays. Ryan needs to turn this around . I am concerned. 0 and 2. Defense looks terrible. I am at a loss to explain the collapse.

Yeas, it is concerning, but this team is capable of reeling of 4 or 5 straight wins. Lets see how they do next week before we throw dirt on their grave.

Like I've said about 16 times, I missed the game today, but I would like to know how the DBs were lining up. Were they lined up inside or outside, man/zone, jamming at the line or playing deep etc. Anyone?

DB's lined up way off the line. Giving 10-12 yards cushion most of the time on both sides. I don't understand that at all. Byrd might as well be in the bathroom he's so far away from the play.

Byrd was an awesome pick-up at FS. Barely even know he's out there. Wait...that's good for an O-lineman...nevermind.

Supremely unimpressed with Byrd. Maybe it's him missing 95% of the preseason? Don't know, but so far he's a waste of space IMHO.

Our unimpressive Inside LB's also showed up today for much ado of nothing...2nd string TE's making clutch 3rd downs and RB's who would be back-ups for 90% of the league breaking contain for critical yardage. You tell me about our defense.

On paper they are dynamic and strong; in reality they are anemic and wrong.

No playmakers on defense. Robinson shouldn't even be on the roster much less starting. Byrd has been invisible. Vaccaro was better in his sub/nickel role last year and isn't playing the game the same way. JR is a one trick pony who got paid and absolutely takes plays off. Jordan, Hicks and Bunkley have been invisible. Teams have figured Ryans schems out.

The head coach calls plays like he's playing a video game. Ingram and the running game as a whole have been beasting. Yet, he opens the game with back to back 3 and outs passing six times. Ridiculous. What is a struggling/bad defenses best friend? Running the ball and eating clock. If he would have handed the ball off to any back with 3 minutes to go and kicked the field goal, putting the Saints up by 4, the Saints would have won the game. Horrible clock management and use of timeouts.

I will always love the Saints and will watch every game. But, this team is leaving me very uninspired. I was hurt by today's result but I wasn't suprised. At best this team is a wildcard team and could easily miss the tournament all together.
