Nola.com believe P-rob may be inactive this week

Nola.com reporters believe that Corey white has taken Robinson's spot and that bryan Dixon will be active instead of P-rob, I really hope so

SAINTS' SECONDARY

Fans who have made cornerback Patrick Robinson the target of all their frustration for the failures of the Saints' defense may finally get their wish. It appears highly unlikely that Robinson will start on Sunday against the Vikings. There's at least a chance he won't even be active (although recent injury additions could render that point moot).

So what will the Saints' secondary look like?

Robinson effectively lost his starting job to Corey White in the first quarter last week in Cleveland. White joined corner Keenan Lewis and safeties Jairus Byrd and Kenny Vaccaro in the base defense, and Robinson returned to the field in nickel sets.

This week, the Saints could choose to make Rafael Bush their nickel back. That would limit Robinson's role to rare dime situations. If Robinson were listed as inactive, rookie corner Brian Dixon would likely be that dime back.

I forgot about Dixon. He made some great plays in preseason (made a few mistakes but that's understandable)

I am up for anything that helps this Defense start playing hard nosed football but we need more help than sitting a CB. They need to watch film of the Panthers to see how a real defense plays football. Coming from a lifelong Saints fan that is hard to type out but from a pure football perspective our Defense is soft in comparison to the Panthers. We build our roster with high IQ guys that can plan a mission to the moon but can't tackle, defend and force turnovers on Sunday. We need a win.

I'd be hesitant to de-activate him simply due to injury concerns. If White or Lewis get hurt, we'd regret it.

A benching may do him some good, but I don't wanna face the Vikes with only 4 CB's, two being rookies that have never started an NFL game.

True, but you don't risk a loss trying to get him experience. You pick your spots and let him develop.

Ryan's job is at stake. He has no loyalty to draft status. He's gonna play the guy that gives him the best chance to win.

If the defense was playing a helluva lot better than they are right now AND the Saints weren't 0-2 I wouldn't be as worried about playing a couple rookies.

We've all seen it before, once Payton turns on a player, once he loses confidence in you, it's like he flips a switch, and you're suddenly invisible, you're dead to him, you don't exist anymore. The icy wall goes up. That might have been what happened with Patrick Robinson. In which case, he is a dead man walking, and Corey White, Bush and Dixon are what Payton sees as the way forward, so Dixon will get the start. If it shakes down that way, I would not be at all surprised. Once he gives up on you, you're out in the cold.

He certainly did that with Charles Brown didn't he.

I believe Payton's exact words were "I've seen enough".

Charles may as well have been vaporized on the spot. He was Milk Cartoned.
