I just read this myself. I don\'t see them dumping Haz with a chance to make the playoffs. As slim as that chance is. Especially after all the talk about how expensive it would be to fire and rehire a new staff.

THis might be true, maybe, if the Saints lay an egg against the TURDS this Sunday but otherwise no way.

I think there is no way we get Saban anyway. With all this beggin for money from the state and then turn around and pay 6 plus million to Haslett for leaving, and pay another staff. I don\'t think so. I also read on the same site that Jack Del Rio was a candidate for LSU if Saban leaves. That has to be crap. Sure, anything can happen. Plus the Saints constantly do what is unexpected, but I still think it is BS as well.

Did anyone note that if Benson takes Saban off LSU\'s hands, the great state of Louisiana saves $1.5 million annually? Saban\'s replacement will probably earn less than $1M, so it\'s a sweet deal for Granma Gov to press on Uncle Tom.

:casstet: Oh well, apparently three teams in the southwestern California area just aren\'t enough for Tags and the NFL, gotta get another in the vicinity. This would put FOUR teams in ONE state, with roughly 450 miles separating the furthest two (San Diego to Oakland).

Not to mention the well-known fact that LA traditionally won\'t support a team even if they have one.

I can only hope that Benson is playing possum here in hopes it will have some sway in the negotiations with the state. Maybe he thinks a coaching search would give the state reason to point out holes in his arguments (as has been asserted). Maybe he means to show solidarity in acting cluelessly committed to his coach and team.

Yeah, and maybe I\'m talking out of my a**. This sucks...

Dolphins decide Saban is their man
It\'s believed Miami has offered the LSU coach a multiyear contract worth $5 million a season

SABAN TO TAKE FINS GIG

A league source tells us that the Miami Dolphins will announce Nick Saban as the franchise\'s fifth head coach on Thursday.

ESPN\'s Len Pasquarelli reports that the Dolphins offered the job to Saban on Wednesday, but Pasquarelli says that Saban has not yet accepted the position. Our source says that, to the contrary, it\'s a done deal.

And, as we explained earlier on Wednesday, we doubt that the Dolphins would have made the offer absent at least a strong indication that Saban is prepared to take the job. From a P.R. perspective, the team simply couldn\'t afford to take another black eye following a staggering 12 months that included a virtually unprecedented string of bad moves and fiascos.

Being a Bama fan, good news indeed. :D
Tubberville then leaves Auburn for LSU. :D

Oh it could be a very happy holiday. :D

Indeed, and the Bammers need all the help we can get. First Spurrier comes back, then that guy from Utah takes over at Florida. Next thing you know, Parcells, Walsh, Cowher and Belichick are gonna be taking SEC jobs! Tubby better sell his name while it\'s hot - he\'s never done better than 9-4 before this season. Of course, he\'s done pretty well against us, so (sorry LSU fans) I\'d rather he take his SEC mediocrity out of state.
