Saints Still Paying For BountyGate?!?

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Can't help but wonder if those two (2) second round picks taken by Goodell as punishment for the bounty contrived bullschinski would be making a difference these past three seasons......

Jamie Collins,Kiko Alonso, John Bostic and Kevin Minter all selected between forfeited pick and end of second round in 2013.

Re: Saints Still Paying For BountyGate?!?

Take a pick, and plug it in anywhere you like: OL, CB, LB, WR, pass rusher.

Definitely would have made a difference. Even if one of the lost picks was presumed a bust, ONE of those picks would have made a difference SOMEWHERE in what we're seeing now. Or they could have made the whole Saints draft board shake out and fall a different way, at multiple positions, like a ripple effect in the later rounds.

I also think there may be possible lurking issues with Payton's exile and return to coaching, which I have not been able to really nail down or put my finger on....seems like Payton sure came back loaded for bear and on fire, for those first 5-6 games of last year, didn't he?....since then? Take away that early 5 win cushion start from last year, and the second half of last season starts to look a lot like the start of this season, which suddenly starts to look a little bit like.... 2012.
