Sean Payton tell reporter to be quiet.

Saints head coach Sean Payton wasn't really in the mood to entertain the media on Sunday following a close loss to the Lions. From asking for the next "smart question," to telling an interrupting reporter to "be quiet," this had it all.

Each passing week, I think we've hit bottom.

When's the last time you saw SP this frustrated?

Correction - that was Sal Paolantonio. Here's what was said about ol Sal:

Quote:

NOBODY ASKED ME, BUT: After the Lions lost Sean Payton got more than testy with ESPN’s Sal Paolantonio in his postgame presser as Sal repeatedly pressed Payton on why he threw the ball on its possession leading up to Brees’ pick instead of playing it safe and running the ball and in the process running the clock?

First off, the Saints couldn’t run the ball effectively all game totaling a mere 73 yards on the ground. Secondly, New Orleans took over with 3:38 left on the clock which was plenty of time for the home team to counter——the Saints needed to pass to get a first down and kill more time.

I remember last year Payton was in a similar situation with the Patriots and ran the ball without being effective only to give Tom Brady and company ample time to put together a game winning drive.

Sal was out of line interrupting Payton a few times when he was answering another question and it seemed to me he was trying to grand stand a little. I’m all for asking a tough question but this was different, it seemed Paolantonio crossed the line and as a result was called out by the Head Saint. Most of the time, I will defend my media brethren but this was one of the few exceptions.

Here's the thing, here's the thing.

I have never heard Payton stutter on his responses. There is a very angry man there.

Sean couldn't have been no more than 15 minutes removed from a tough CLOSE loss and then having to step up to the podium and answer questions about the int/refs etc.

Its only human nature for Payton to be visibly upset.

Hey Payton, if you don't want the fire the start winning. I have no problem with SP being criticized for his play calling. I have been on the Carmichael bandwagon since 2011.
