Does that prevent further fluid on the knee? I'm just wondering because I had this done as a kid, blood was in the fluid & they had to drain a couple times. Being the drainee (and young), I don't recall if they did a steroid shot or not, or if that was even the protocol at the time. It was not a pleasant experience, .

Edit: He has the attitude of a rugby player........we just don't stop because it hurts. For us it's ALL about this one game today. We know we'll be fine next week.
Thought about something in that regards watching the All Blacks/Eagles match in Chicago the other week. Rugby guys go full out, full contact, yet don't experience the high percentage/type of injuries NFL players do. Why? It's the pads/protective equipment. Take it away, simplify, convert the NFL game to a more rugby-style game where the players aren't all padded up & you'll eliminate a lot of the injury issue, players will be on the field more, you get a more consistent level of play, a game that crosses international borders & is worldwide (like the NFL is trying to do), plus it'll finally make us competitive in world rugby circles ... can you imagine the athletes on NFL rosters being converted to rugby stars? Be the same as when they sent Jordan & the Dream Team to the Olympics, .

It's a win-win-win-win for the NFL, the athletes, the USA and the fans, IMO.

That is such a true statement my friend.

As rugby players we stay healthier because we don't feel invincible since we are wearing pads. Also we don't have helmets to use like weapons on opponents...........and amazingly I don't think we have as many concussions.(although we do get them)

Personally, I think this tackle heads up initiative in football is idiotic. If you use your shoulder you have less chance of injuring your neck making a tackle or being hammered by a hard plastic projectile in the tackle.(helmet)
