Mixed reviews on Kenny Vaccaro's comments; Payton likes his passion

METAIRIE, La. -- New Orleans Saints safety Kenny Vaccaro was outspoken about his growing frustrations after Sunday's 27-10 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.

Among other topics, Vaccaro said the Saints' defensive chemistry hasn't been the same this season after losing so many veterans in the offseason and that he's been "embarrassed" by how undisciplined the Saints look on defense.

Saints linebacker and captain Curtis Lofton said he doesn't think such frustrations should be handled through the media.

"He's not the only player that feels that way, and there's been numerous guys that have expressed the same feelings. But there's a different type of way of doing it," Lofton said. "That's how it's been handled in the past, and that's how it needs to be handled in the future, too."

At least someone is showing passion.

Where is Akeem Hicks this year?

After all the fan comments after the game about how none of the players seam to "care" or how they have just "given up", it's nice to see players take a stand and try to negate that belief.

Talk is still cheap, anyone can put in a bad performance and talk about how p***ed off they are because they played terrible

Only way I'll believe they truly care is if they show it on the field.

bingo.

the biggest issue raised it's ugly head in the middle of last year when Greer went down. we did nothing to address the issue in the off season. so far i have not seen it.

that is the issue with our secondary. no true CB to start opposite Lewis.

It's pretty easy to see that now but at the time it didn't look like there was a major need to address CB in the offseason. Patrick Robinson was coming back from injury and he looked great the season before. On top of that, Corey White was the third CB and, who statistically played as well as Greer before he went down.
