as HC, right?I don't care about that. I mean Ray Rhodes was a terrible HC, but has always beena good coord.

Re: Ron Zook

Ron Zook would probably be better in the pro ranks than college ranks...

I'd be very pessimistic about that hire...

Re: Ron Zook

What about some of the other defensive coaches in college? Jeremy Pruitt, Dave Aranda, hell even Will Muschamp... Any of those type of guys that could be DC candidates?

Re: Ron Zook

Doesn't matter who is in that DC role with scab players we have filling in. Don't think DC is the biggest defensive problem.

Re: Ron Zook

Not trying to hijack the tread but coaching is not the primary issue with our defense. Look at any of the successful defensive units around the NFL today and you see speed and power in the front 7 defenders, we have non of that. Our DB's are depleted but nobody can maintain coverage while QB's have 5,6,7,8 seconds to wait for separation from our defenders.

But again Fosset was getting thru the DL and LBs untouched ... UN FRGGING TOUCHED!!!!!!!!!!! ... They were just being manhandled plain and simple ... Thats what our defensive coordinators problem is ... lack of talent youth and speed.

Offensive Line is just as bad, tons of money tied up in non productive Guards, Brees is being bull rushed up the middle around the side every play, running for his life and make ill advised untimely throws trying to make something happen thats just not there ... Ingram is frustrated with having to gain every yard virtually on his own. No way with all the overblown contracts and bad cap money can we afford to sign him next year, but why would he want to return to to this type of unit. We might see 1 maybe 2 OL positions change next year doubt we could afford to do more.

Its taken time an neglect to the long range team needs by splashy selective big expenditures on skill positions and everything else being handled piece meal. It will take time to get things sorted and moving the right way ... This team as currently constructed is going nowhere.

Flame me if you want but I have been a Saints fan thru thick and thin, was at the 1st Saints game and season ticket holder for 20 years till I moved overseas. I make at least 1 or 2 game a year make watch all the game from where ever I am in the world live or recored through my Sling Box. I am not a Bandwagon or whatever you call people you call this team and coaching out for what it is. There are a lot of good people on the coaching staff and the team but its game plan, execution and performance that makes a winning team ... We are below average on all these points regardless of how many yards the offense puts up ... it can't get the ball into the end zone when it has to.

Coach Chuckie said best last night, Payton/Brees threw for a first down on 3rd and 1, to Paraphrase, "That just not right not having the confidence to run the ball in that situation." He's right ... the reality is we have proved over and over again ... WE CAN NOT GAIN 1 YARD WHEN NEEDED!

Re: Ron Zook

Some folks want to let Ryan pick his own coaches next year. I don't think he will be here though because Ryan and Payton are like oil and water.
