New Orleans Saints and Pittsburgh Steelers Release Final Injury Report: Khiry Remains Out

by Andrew Schuster 1h ago

As the entire NFC South continues on a downward spiral in the National Football League, the division remains up for grabs. Week 13 is here, which means the final home-stretch of the 2014 season is upon us. With game time less than 48 hours away, the final injury report and Sunday statuses for the matchup between the New Orleans Saints and Pittsburgh Steelers has been released following today’s practices.

Saints:

Did not practice-

RB Khiry Robinson (Forearm) – OUT

LB Kyle Knox (Hand) – OUT

Limited-

G Ben Grubbs (Neck) – Probable

C Jonathan Goodwin (Toe) – Probable

Full participants –

RB Pierre Thomas (Rib/Shoulder) – Probable

WR Robert Meachem (Ankle) – Probable

LB Curtis Lofton (Ankle) – Probable

CB Keenan Lewis (Knee) – Probable

Steelers:

Did not practice-

DT Steve McLendon (Shoulder) – OUT

T Marcus Gilbert (Ankle) – Questionable

Limited-

CB Cortez Allen (Thumb) – OUT

LB Ryan Shazier (Ankle) – Questionable

Full Participants-

CB Ike Taylor (Forearm) – Probable

S Shamarko Thomas (Hamstring) – Probable

WR Martavis Bryant (Illness) – Probable

If the Black and Gold wish to keep the contest close in the Steel City on Sunday, Coach Sean Payton and Company will need all hands on deck. Unfortunately, injuries have been a major issue for the Saints this year, with their latest victim to the IR being defensive tackle Brodrick Bunkley.

After RB Khiry Robinson sent out a promising tweet Wednesday afternoon, he is set to miss his sixth-straight game. Kyle Knox also remains out, and with the regular season nearing an end, I’m not sure why New Orleans doesn’t just shut him down to make room for somebody that could actually be useful on a struggling defense.

For the Steelers, CB Cortez Allen and starting nose tackle Steve McLendon have been ruled out, so expect a heavy dose of Will Allen in the secondary and rookie DT Daniel McCullers plugging up the middle on the line.

Anything can happen on any given Sunday in the NFL, but the Saints must be firing on all cylinders if they want to escape Pittsburgh with a victory and keep their playoff hopes alive. With just two days remaining until kickoff, we’ll be sure to keep you updated with any changes, Who Dat Nation.

We'd need the entire Steelers defense on IR to even have a chance on this one, even then we would not be able to stop their offense anyway.

You have obviously not been watching the NFL this season. (just kidding) The Steelers have looked horrible at time, just as have the Saints. Supposed slam dunk winners have bombed all season long this season.

Care to explain how the Steelers managed to lose to the Jets AND Bucs?

Re: Saints and Steelers Wednesday Injury Report

I'm concerned about L Bell. He has developed into a very good RB for the Steelers and so has his patience/vision. Just hoping our run stopping D improves on Sunday.

I think Brees can take advantage (with good O line protection) of their corner Gay - he has been exposed quite a bit this year.
