The scouts will beat on desks for players they really like and try to get them moved up the board with the coordinators,

the final ranking of players is reached with the final agreement of the coordinators.

when the draft is going on if a coordinator really wants a player it can get comical by all reports.

that is were SP and Mickey have the final call as to what is best for the club.

but in no way does the coordinator get stuck with players and told to make it work.
Sorry, but you are wrong about this. The Saints scouts report directly to the Director of Player Personnel, Ryan Pace. Pace, in turn, reports directly to Mickey Loomis. The defensive coordinator is not in the loop in the Saints organization.

Not sure how anyone can know that

No one here is in the organisation so they don't know who has a say and who doesn't

I have to believe that Offensive and defensive coordinators have some input in what players are being drafted.

sounds like i need to to ask some questions. off to the saints i go. none of my connection here would be of help. they would just laugh at me at on this one.

if this is the case i owe Rob a big i am sorry for the saints have one of the most screwed up draft system in the NFL. Draft a square peg for a round hole and expect it to work geessshhhhh aint his fault.

Who did we draft recently on defense that's a square peg in a round hole?

I'm not thinking about life after Drew.

I'm thinking life after Goodwin.

Re: Saints thinking about life after Drew Brees

I would like to see Drew here for a few more years with great protection like he used to have. He's not comfortable with that line and it's very obvious. I will admit,he did look comfortable yesterday, and we saw the results of that. I would love to build a superior o line to protect Brees on his way out and give a good start to whoever comes in. Someone mentioned getting Cousins and I would not have a problem with that. I've been impressed with him the few times I got to watch him play. I feel pretty good about Griffin(Drews backup, not RG3),but I think Cousins would be a better option IMO.

Re: Saints thinking about life after Drew Brees

Goodwin's play this season has impacted both guard spots.

Solidify the line and we'll get another 3-4 years of the Drew Brees we saw in Pittsburgh.
