I still think we should try to resign this guy. He's proven himself a capable and dependable runner that can move the chains.

What say you?

I saw fit to use that as my 2000th post. It only took me 11 years to get there!

I know that we are a league of "what have you done for me lately"? He's played well lately.....but it took too long to suit me. I loved him coming out of Alabama but he's been a big disappointment until recently. Plus he has a thug mentality.jmho I'll pass.

There was, of course, no way we could have signed his extension prior to this year: bad business, plus he had produced nothing.

The two burning questions are
How much will he cost?
Will he resign with us after we bypassed him once?

Strongly disagree.

He's battled multiple injuries and an offensive line learning a new scheme.

Throughout everything he's shown diligence, heart and kept his nose clean which have all earned him coach's and team's support.

NOW - that he's finally healthy - he's ripping off consistent 100+yard games.

What's not to like?

And I don't get the "thug mentality" comment at all. Are you an Auburn fan?

I see him getting signed, seems to me that Robinson/Ingram are our future and Thomas is getting fazed out of the offense somewhat... He doesn't get near the touches that he used to including screen passes

Thug mentality? WTF?

Assuming that he's finally turned the corner and this isn't just him in a contract year, I like Ingram a lot. He's learned what it takes to be an NFL back. Hopefully we are able to re-sign him.

Re: Mark Ingram approaching 1000 yards

Mark Ingram has earned my respect. Myself and most Saints fans were disappointed with his production in prior years, and Mark knew that the Saints nation and other pundits had labeled him a "bust". But he didn't give up. He kept making the most of his opportunities and hitting the holes and kept getting better and running smarter. And when the burden of carrying the load fell on his shoulders due to other injured players, he delivered. Now he's become an integral part of our offensive attack. Should we re-sign him? no question. We better hope we can re-sign him.
