It definitely wasn't the classiest way to respond to criticism. I think Junior's just a young, passionate guy who doesn't think before he speaks. All of the criticism of our defense and speculation that Rob Ryan may get fired is probably really getting to Junior as a defensive captain. Sure, the smart thing to do woud have been to prop up our current players and say that they're on the same level as the great players that they're replacing, and that's a lesson that Junior has now undoubtedly learned. Maybe he's not quite ready to be a team captain maturity-wise but I can tell that he's definitely trying and I respect the passion he displays. He just needs to develop a little gravitas and I'm sure that will come with age.

I'm not sure I think he bashed anyone but, he could have been a bit more...diplomatic. Sometimes there's something to be said for biting your tongue.

I think Jr. has a way to go to catch Will Smith. Smith was also the victim of being told to add weight to be run stopper lose weight to be a pass rusher and did all of this without complaining. Jr might want to check stats before he runs his mouth and I like Jr but let your play do the talking.

So would it have been better of him to say "Nah we should have kept Harper, Jenkins, Vilma & Fresh Prince. The guys that replaced them here are not very good." I would rather have him say nothing but he did, I won't hate on a man saying his current teammates are better. I mean would any of us tell our wives/husband that our ex's were better. Nah we wouldn't do that at all and expect the house to be happy.

There are ways of saying things though.
It would be easy to say that "of course we miss some of the vets but we believe the younger guys can be as good if not better than those before us. "

Those guys won a Superbowl and had multiple good years and playoff performances, non of these players have

Re: Junior bashes former teammates

To me it's just another reminder not be fooled by the optimism of a single win against Pittsburgh with Ben having a gimpy hand. This team is in complete disarray. ESPECIALLY inside the locker room. What we have seen from the team this year, as far as character and personality and integrity goes, quite frankly we have not really seen anything like it before, under Sean Payton's entire tenure here. I don't think he is in control at all. It all reminds me so much of '12, the time when nobody was in charge, and nobody was responsible, and the coaches couldn't do anything to fix it.

What a crappy thing to say. I mean, he's not wrong, really...at least in terms of talent.

but those guys all did a lot for the organization. Junior needs to keep his yap shut. He's supposed to be a defensive captain, if he wants to keep wearing that patch he needs to show a little more leadership, which by the way, is probably the main thing we're lacking right now.

I'll take Vilma in his prime over Curtis Lofton any day.
