Plenty of reasons to buy in, and bail out, on New Orleans Saints in final four games

The unpredictability of the New Orleans Saints' 2014 season hasn't all of a sudden dissipated after Drew Brees, Sean Payton and Co. halted their three-game losing streak with a surprising win in Pittsburgh last Sunday.

Yes, calculations, predictions and projections point toward the Saints (5-7) winning the NFC South title by the end of the regular season. But as we've witnessed ad nauseam this season, prematurely crowning the Saints is risky business.

The Saints will enter their important matchup with the Carolina Panthers (3-8-1), losers of six straight games, on Sunday at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome as a heavy favorite, though New Orleans has lost three consecutive games in the Dome.

Now that the NFL schedule heads into its fourth quarter, there's no time better than now for the Saints to discover a speck of consistency in these final four games.

There are a handful of reasons to buy into the Saints maintaining the play they displayed in Pittsburgh. But the elements of team's underachieving ways are too ingrained in the memory bank.

Here are three reasons to believe the Saints can flip the switch. And, since this team has been a roller coaster all season, three reasons to be leery during the final four-game stretch:

I still believe we will win out and finish 9-7.

Panthers - Could be our easiest game
Bears - Damn Chicago in December Jack Frost our biggest problem
Falcons - Dog Fight in the Dome but Smith usually chokes
Buccaneers - Lovie don't love us no more but it won't matter

I want to buy in however I am concerned about the personality of this team.
You just don't know what you're going to get.

They CAN win out. They CAN go 1-3. As long as they get to the playoffs, I really don't care.
