Fred Smoot -- Pairing him with Mike McKenzie will give us a very solid defensive backfield. With their coverage ability it will allow the safeties to play closer to the line to support the linebackers.

And we really did not pass on Smoot in the draft. Word has it that we tried to swap second rounders to get him in the second round but the redskins wanted to much for the 2nd round swap.

franchise howard and trade him for franchised brees. have a trade for brooks lined up and get a mid/low #1.

a veteran LB ala bell seems logical with nothing but kids there.

mckenzie is the real deal and fakhir might make do. the draft looks better for there.

isnt hasslebeck a FA? ah, forget about the qb stuff, ab aint going anywhere.

Given AB\'s statements at the end of the season about how good he is, I say get Kitna. He would really push Brooks, he\'s handled the whole situation with Carson Palmer really well, and I would say he\'s a big time upgrade over Bouman. The way I figure it if AB doesn\'t improve this offseason, Kitna gives us a great alternative. I would rather perform hemorrhoid surgery on myself than EVER see Kurt Warner in a Saints uni.

whew... hold the phone... Howard for Brees??? Your kidding right? NO WAY. Brees they will keep and they don\'t need help on D. Biggest impact player we could get is Smoot. With the new rule changes about interference there are no longer anything such as a Shut Down corner but you can equip yourself with the best... Mike, and craft I love, we are going to lose Ambrose unless we can get him at Saftey, he is way to old and will drop off so moving him to retire or saftey isn\'t bad idea. Smoot will also give us a reason to draft OT Aam Terry, which we so badly need help at is that line damn... Then we can address LB\'s.

We need to get Hartwell and Mark Fields back. Smoot after that and we are set after we take the safety from Georgia in the first round.

I would not be mad at all if we got Thomas Davis in the first round. He could be our Roy Williams. Hartwell is a given if we could somehow get the team to pony up the bucks.
