A closer look at the New Orleans Saints' NFC South title hopes

At 8-8

-- If the Saints win all three, they win the NFC South, get the four seed and host the top wild-card team.

At 7-9

-- If the Saints beat the Falcons and split the other two, they would need both the Falcons and Panthers to lose once more.

-- If the Saints lose to the Falcons but win the other two, they win the division if the Panthers lose once more and the Falcons lose their other two games, including vs. Carolina in Week 17.

At 6-10

-- If the Saints beat the Falcons and lose the other two, they need the Falcons and Panthers to lose two more each, which includes Carolina beating Atlanta.

-- If the Saints lose to the Falcons and split the other two, they are out.

At 5-11

-- The Saints can't make the playoffs.

REMAINING GAMES

SAINTS: at Bears, vs. Falcons, at Bucs

FALCONS: vs Steelers, at Saints, vs. Panthers

PANTHERS: vs. Bucs, vs. Browns, at Falcons

I just feel fortunate to have another passion (Hunting) to keep my mind of this crapola of a season. Otherwise I might be suicidal. Also, I think I may need therapy because I take the ups and downs of this team entirely too seriously, & don't think I'm alone in that regard either.

My give-a-damn about this season is broken. I am hoping for the best but expecting the worst the rest of the way!

All I see is draft picks. I hate it. I hate it. I hate it! But that's all I see.

Screw it. We're peaking at the last possible second. All the other Division Champs will have worked hard for nothing. Slow is fast fast is slow. We win the SB and our new animal mascot will a snappin' turtle:

"Snappers can stretch their necks back across their own carapace and to their hind feet on either side to bite. Also, their claws are sharp and capable of inflicting significant lacerations. When they feel stressed, they release a musky odor from behind their legs."

It ain't over to the Fat Lady Sings or so they say. After the Steelers game there was a light shining through the gloom. So then comes the Carolina game and that light faded to black. So off to Chicago to visit Kromer and
the frozen tundra that the Saints just love to play in.
