I miss the half-time explosions from the coach. I miss a team so beautifully screwed up that when Kyle Turley and Mike Martz looked over at them on the TV in the middle of their fracas, they surely thought, "Wow, those guys are really messed up." I miss the kind of guts it took to come back from a 4-8 start and reach the doorstep of the playoffs. I miss a team so cool and loose and so perfectly comfortable on the razor's edge that they made the Carolina Panthers look like a bunch of Nervous-Nellie spelling bee kids on Sunday.

He really gets it. Probably as close as the national media has ever gotten to explaining our Saints under Haslett.

That article is what the Saints fans knew all along. It is also why the fans are so skeptical and critical of its players. We know they should be better -- and cannot understand how they can play the way they do. And it would have been fun to see them in the playoffs (not that I am delusional enough to think that they could go to Green Bay and not get picked apart by Favre) - because they really did deserve it the way they rebounded at the end of the season. Too Bad our defense didn\'t start playing with that kind of passion earlier
