2014 saints were way more talented than 2009 saints, just so happened that the 2009 saints formed one of the greatest teams we've had with some very average players.

The players all complimented eachother well and worked their behinds off every day.
They signed a CB who did not even fit their scheme and tried to change it to accomodate him and the other players were not used to that. That's different. They also had no offseason because of the lockout and believe it or not, that had a real impact on the seasons after.

True, but my original post was intended to show that just because a team signs great players does not mean they will be a great team

How excited did we get when we signed Byrd? And how often was he out of position in the 4 weeks he was healthy?

The answer to both of those questions is a hell of a lot.

Re: Something seriously wrong in this organization

Byrd was bad because we really only signed one big player on D but he got hurt and he had back surgery and missed most of training camp. Then we draft a CB who was not NFL ready. I admit I wanted him because of the name, he had a very saints-like name. I think he's going to play well Sunday if he plays. However, our offense is just as much to blame. We did not address our OL at all. And also, we have to take the schedule into consideration, quit buying the "you play what's on your schedule" and start considering the "you play, based on your schedule". I knew our defense was going to have a tougher challenge this year when you factor the offenses we played compared to last season. And most defenses had these problems against these teams. That was where it showed Drew needed OL help because he could not put teams away like in the past. Was it Kromer? Was it Nicks? That has to be figured out what's affecting the OL play and Drew's production. I feel Drew's becoming a diva letting his fanbase and team get slaughtered by naysayers if its true he's playing uninspired because his defense won't get him a turnover to give him a short field. I REALLY hope that is not true.

Re: Something seriously wrong in this organization

Some of you kinda missed the point of my post.
I understand that just because you get players through free agency and the draft you might not be successful, but i feel like we completely missed in some aspects. Whether its the person evaluating these players or the people responsible in helping these players progress on the field and in games. I feel somewhere along the line its just not getting done right and we need a change before it is way beyond our time (drews time). I feel compared to other successful organizations such as Denver, San Fran, Seattle, New England, we are lacking in the scouting or development of talent.

Re: Something seriously wrong in this organization

The fact Baptiste hasn't played any considerable amount of snaps in any game scares me really badly. I mean how could you reach that badly on a pick in the 2nd round and still not even stick him into the fire to see what he's made of especially with the clowns we had at CB this year...

I agree, if he is so bad that car salesman from the street are starting over him then he needs to be cut now. He is already too old to invest more time in.

You're telling me other teams would miss as bad as we have in free agency or the draft like we have? I feel like any other team with the weapons we have on both sides of the ball would have a phenomenal season. You're telling me if Denver drafted KVac or signed Byrd they would've played that poorly? Or if they had Cam Jordan he would have the season he's had here? What about Kenny Stills (not to say he hasnt played well) but he has tremendous talent and would be a phenomenal wide receiver in other well coached programs.

There's something wrong with this organization and I feel we're a few weeks away from a big article revealing another scandal or some sort of tear between players/ coaches/ management in the organization. I just can't put my finger on it, but how else can you explain this season?
My 1st responce is horsesh*t...
I'm already moved on and ready to reload for next year.
That includes Drew as our QB.
and RR as our D Cooridinator
