Graham on injured shoulder: It 'was a battle every game' ...MRI Scheduled

Saints TE Jimmy Graham on injured shoulder: It 'was a battle every game'
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com

Saints tight end Jimmy Graham acknowledged that playing with a bum shoulder "was a battle every game," according to the Times-Picayune. Graham told reporters Friday he may need offseason shoulder surgery, depending on the results on an MRI exam, which he'll undergo as soon as the season comes to an end.

Graham injured his shoulder Week 5 against Tampa Bay but returned two weeks later without missing any game action. He has clearly not been the same since the injury and was on a snap count his first two games back.

"I'm not going to make any excuses for it," Graham said. "I think everyone plays hurt in this league. That's just a part of the job."

Graham has the fewest receiving yards since his rookie year in 2010. He needs 165 yards in Sunday's season finale against Tampa Bay in order to surpass the 1,000-yard threshold for the second consecutive season.

Frankly, I am not surprised. And I am sure all of our opponents are not (surprised) either.
Now here's the thing. The Saints organization had no idea what to do except give him more plays.

Should have IR'd him then. The other thing about this is once it was out he was hurt he was naturally targeted by the Defense. Same think I recall being coached in peewee football. Hey #80 is hurting...go hit him.

Hopefully, this doesn't become a physical issue down the road as a reoccurring injury.

Nothing new; every Saints fan remembers when AB had a bum shoulder and the Saints only needed to win one of their last 3 to make it to the playoffs and Haslett wouldn't sit AB and play Delhomme!

OMFG, do you remember that season? I though we lost our last 4 including one at the Bengals when they would win like 2 or 3 games a season. So clear he was hurt and dumb ass Has**** kept putting him out there.

You ever see the Packers and realize we weren't 3-13 every season under Has. I do. If not for McCARTHY we would have been terrible.
