2014 Saints Penalties - Top 3 Offenders

Kinda like "Gee Whiz" info, but might be useful considering the hacking of our assistant coaching personnel.

#3 P. Haralson: 6 (3 Illegal Use of Hands, 1 Neutral Zone, 1 Defensive Offside, 1 Offensive Holding). 2 Declined.

#2 T. Armstead: 8 (3 False Starts, 3 Holding, 1 Illegal Formation, 1 Illegal Motion). 1 Declined

#1 KENNY VACCARO: 9 :pissed: (3 Personal Fouls, 2 Roughing the Passers, 1 15-yard Face Mask, 1 Illegal Contact, 1 Illegal Use of Hands, 1 Defensive Holding). 1 Off-Setting

Vaccaro is the only one remotely troubling, IMO. He routinely shows a lack of focus on the field. Armstead is a fine young player, well worth taking a few penalties because he is going to be an elite tackle before too long. Haralson, I was at first surprised by, but then not really because the illegal use of hands thing was way overcalled this season.

I can live with Harrelson and Armstead but Vaccaro that guy is digging a deep hole for himself.

No issues with Armstead
Id rather take the odd 10 yards tha watch Drew get hit clean on tge blind side.
He played small school football and didn't start ladt year to the tail end of the year. He is going ti be a monster in s couple of years

Yeah, I don't have a problem with Armstead's....1st full year in the league at starting LT. That number starts going up then it'll be a problem, but he did a pretty dang good job this year.

Vaccaro? That's why I put that crap in bold & underlined it. Can't give away free 15 yard chunks when you're already giving up a bunch of points & a bunch of yards anyhow.

good chart-> good info

Armstead gets a bit of a pass bc of the rookie status, but his number is skewed because he didn't play the last 2.5 games.

Glimpse of the future: with the age of our other 4 O-Lineman, Armstead will probably be the only one we still have in 2017. Hopefully we see more development from Lelito

Remember when we were concerned about the flags in the pre-season... I think we had the most penalties called on us in the pre-season. Well, at least that got fixed...

I think that we just played less aggressive. Especially our CBs. I rather see more penalties (DPI, holding calls) than easy yards.
