Can we develop anyone defensively to their full potential? I mean lofton & hawthorne are perfect examples of good young defensive players who havent quite reached what they probably could've. Loftons good but he was better in atlanta because he could actually cover then, same with hawthorne...now it looks kenny vaccaro isn't going to live up to his potential as well. It just seems like a common theme for our team...something needs to be changed.

Re: Dante Fowler or Bernardrick McKinney

Fowler could be the extra pass rusher we need. We just need a stud OLB ILB or DT in this draft. 2/3 and we're golden. We better have a hell of a draft.

Exactly ... so did Brian Orakpo, Jamaal Charles, Alex Okafor, Derrick Johnson etc. Pretty weak argument if you ask me.

Re: Dante Fowler or Bernardrick McKinney

I've read conflicting reports in McKinney. 13 seems to high for me for him id rather take eithee a top notch pass rusher or OT/G like Collins. Take Perryman in 2 or Kendricks in R3 instead

Benardrick McKinney*, ILB/OLB, Mississippi State
Height: 6-5. Weight: 249.
Projected 40 Time: 4.62.
Projected Round (2015): 1-2.

12/13/14: In 2014, McKinney has 61 tackles, eight tackles for a loss, three sacks, three passes broken up and a forced fumble. One of those sacks came when he beat Texas A&M tackle Cedric Ogbuehi off the edge. McKinney has a big-time presence in the Bulldogs' defense and has shown the ability to be a three-down starter who can drop into pass coverage or rush the quarterback.

8/23/14: After redshirting in 2011, McKinney made a splash in 2012 and was named a First-Team Freshman All-American by numerous media outlets. He recorded 102 tackles with 4.5 tackles for a loss, one sack and four passes broken up. The sophomore had 70 tackles, seven tackles for a loss and 3.5 sacks in 2013.

McKinney is an intriguing, versatile athlete who has a lot of upside. He has the potential to add weight and play 3-4 outside linebacker, and maybe even some defensive end, along with inside and outside linebacker. Sources have told WalterFootball.com that they view McKinney as a three-down middle linebacker candidate for the NFL.

Vaccarro? Three of those guys were drafted before 2009 just before the SEC starting hogging all the recruits. LSU and Alabama were at the top of recruiting classes every year.

Re: Dante Fowler or Bernardrick McKinney

I wouldn't mind either Fowler or McKinney, but I don't think Fowler will be there. Other few options I'm interested in are La'el Collins, Brandon Scherff, and Melvin Gordon... though I'd would trade back if I was considering Gordon.

I will be angry is we take a RB at 13 or even in the first round to be honest.
