Dante Fowler or Bernardrick McKinney

Those are the two players I have my eye on for us in the upcoming draft. Fowler is a straight up, edge rusher. McKinney is an ILB with defensive back speed, a sure tackler, can cover in space, and a true leader.

If I has to choose, I want Mckinney.

Who are y'all hoping we target?

Re: Dante Fowler or Bernardrick McKinney

McKinney at 6'5 has the size, has a massive wing span to bat those balls down across the middle...

But not to worry; Payton won't draft a LB until we get a great "upside" project in the 4th or 5th...

He's a ridiculous athlete.

Let's say McKinney and Shaq Thompson are there at the same time, who you taking?

That's easy; Bernardrick McKinney

He's got the size advantage

Yeah I like McKinley too. But is he going in the first or second? I'd like to get Collins and him.

Here is an excerpt of what Mel Kiper recently said of McKinney ...

The 6-foot-5, 245-pound McKinney is huge, athletic, and doesn't mind doing the dirty work in the trenches, though he isn't elite in space or in pass coverage. Wed, Dec 17, 2014 08:02:00 PM

I would choose McKinney of the two but my question is with the current cast of coaches, can we develop this kid to his full potential?

They'd have a lot better chance with this kid, than trying to develop a mid to late round "project" like Powell or Fortt...

We have no idea, when's the last time we drafted an early round LB?

MicKinley played in the SEC and helped MSU's defense hold the higher teams to lesser points than they usually score. Teams in the SEC that play like that are going to adjust quickly in the NFL. He is not a project or else he would not have made MSU a top defense.

Martez. But, in the 3rd in 2011.

And the pick should've been ROT Jah Reid (now starting for the Ravens) because Tez was released in 2013 to protect an undrafted QB from the Practice Squad.

I consider 3rd a mid round pick...
