If we go run first we will need a strong RB. I just don't know if Ingram is staying and if he doesn't we should franchise tag him and trade him for some extra picks to be able to get a good RB. Our oline is not good enough though and that needs help.

Re: Dennis Allen Rejoins Saints

I'm really concerned about Ireland. Is his track record of drafts really better than ours?

First round picks last year(Seattle vs.us)
No pick vs.Brandin Cooks-Cooks
Paul Richardson and Justin Britt vs.SJB-Paul Richardson and Britt as of now.
Kassius Marsh, Kevin Norwood, Kevin Pierre-Louis vs.Fortt-Fortt is no longer on our team but those guys have not shown anything yet either.
Jimmy Staten, Garrett Stott vs.that Bama guy we drafted(?)...obviously the Bama guy so far.
Eric Pinkins vs.No pick-Pinkins
Kierro Small vs.whoever we drafted with 7th round pick-no clue

Now for Miami vs.us in 2013
Dion Jordan vs.Kenny Vacarro-Vacarro
Jamar Taylor vs.no pick-Taylor
Dallas Thomas vs.Terron Armstead-Armstead
Will Davis vs.John Jenkins-Jenkins
Jelani Jenkins vs.Kenny Stills-Draw
Dion Sims vs.Kenny Stills-Stills
Mike Gillislie vs.who did we draft here?-Gilislie was bad.
Caleb Sturgis vs.who did we draft here?-Sturgis
Don Jones vs.who did we draft here?-not sure how Jones did.

Please see that page to see how he did when addressing a OL draft.

We can't just hope for things to happen. And half the people here are in denial about Atlanta. Wake up! Atlanta is not going away, they have made all these changes to top us. Thats all they care about! And we do stuff like this!

I think it's a mistake to compare drafts at other teams unless you know the circumstance surrounding picks.

Bottom line; Payton has worked with Ireland and is obviously comfortable with his abilities. Again, he won't be the GM, he'll be a talent evaluator - something he excels at.
Danno and Mr.Riaton like this.

I believe that drafting a C and G in the draft is needed, swing Lelito to G, keep Grubbs, Lelito, Armstead, and Stief with a stud C to start and the drafted G /T to groom. Not replacing to many at once on the front line is key. As far as RB there are some really good FA even if Ingram leaves(I hope we keep him) and a slew of quality RB.'s that can be had in the late, late rounds, some will even go undrafted. This is an excellant year for RB. in the draft but If we would go ground and pound we will need a bruiser type.

O Line - "versatility" is needed. Sign it or draft it. But get someone who can fill in if Grubbs, Evans or Strief can't play well enough.

I think Lelito is our C unless a dream scenario happens.

RB is as you said widely available.

Still need upgrades at LB, NT, CB. Possibly even WR...
