Can we send Leon back if Farve retires?

Still, the essential problem is that we still have Leon. Whether or not you take my question when I started this thread as a bash of Leon, the issue is still the same.

1. Leon has above average, raw talent. (Cannon arm, fast, good runner)
2. Leon has alienated many of his teammates with his \"I\'m Great with poor talent around me\" stuff.
3. Hazlett has put Leon in that position by choice
4. Leon has alienated many of the fans. (Don\'t believe that? Look at the number of \"Leon must go\" threads. We even have a poster who\'s name implies such._
5. Leon is not a leader, never was, nor will be HERE.
6. We still need to at least find someone competent to replace Leon if he does, in fact, go. :exclam:

Yes they did have a suprise look on their face, yes I did believe that taking Sullivan so early was a reach but this is was Kiper had him ranked:

Johnathan Sullivan (Georgia)
At 6-3 and 298 pounds, Sullivan has good quickness and a non-stop motor. His speed enables him to pursue sideline to sideline and to chase plays downfield. Sullivan was a more consistent collegiate performer than former Georgia defensive-line standouts Marcus Stroud and Richard Seymour (both are now in the NFL). Stroud and Seymour were more gifted physically and were more dominant when they brought their \"A\" games. But on a game-to-game basis, Sullivan was more steady.
Draft outlook: Likely a mid-to-late first-round pick.

Maybe they thought he woluld be gone because of his potential and those are two of the best in the NFL right now, who knows but maybe(hopefully) he has matured enough to see the potential that he has.
Ever since Brooks has been in N.O. the odds have been against him when Blake went down everyone said that thier playoff hopes were gone down the drain well he took us there and won our first game ever but lost to Minn. the next week and most people gave up on him then. I honestly think that he can be a great QB but the Saints need to get a veteran QB that has been a leader to help him. They have not brought in anyone who can help him with that. Also, the main reason I think that he nas this bad attitude is because everything when they lose is always his fault but when they win nobody ever really gives him any credit. I can never remember people being this hard on any other QB. I guess that first playoff win was to much for the media and some of the fans to handle. I mean so far no one has listed a QB that would be better and until we get a better OL(OT\'s) a pocket QB would just get killed and our defense if they can play like they did the last 4 games next year maybe we will be discussing who we would be playing in the playoffs.

I think calling AB Leon is not funny but cowardice. Would not say that to his face. This sounds much like a Randy Moss act. JMPO

Also since I am \"blasting\" him, can you tell me one thing I have pointed out about him that isn\'t true?

Well Yeah, sure. He\'s not responsible for the poor play of the defense. He can and does audible successfully. This Dallas game you have spoken of 173 times was definately not his best game, and it was one of the better ones by our line, but I could submit lots of games this year where Brooks ran for his life from start to finish. Would you deny this fact? If you\'re saying our line isn\'t a problem then I\'m saying I think you\'re wrong. If you\'re saying Brooks is the reason our line stinks them I\'m saying I think you\'re wrong. If you expect every audible to be a successful one then I submit to you, Peyton Manning, and again I say I think you\'re wrong.

The general idea is summed up in this very thread where you \"rail\" the Saints for \"getting rid\" of talent. It\'s the assumption that the Saints, for example, were the lone idiot regarding, say, Delhomme. Jake was undrafted...lots of teams missed that boat. Jake was cut by the Saints (prior to Haz) more than once and nobody claimed him. Lots of teams missed that boat. Carolina had Peete in front of him and used him in desperation as I recall. Jake\'s a great player to be sure, but the Saints (and specifically Haz) shouldn\'t be held accountable, in my opinion, for the same thing EVERY ONE ELSE IN THE LEAGE (including the great talent evaluator Bill Parcells) missed too. Hell man, Jake couldn\'t even crack a starting lineup in NFLE.

So, it\'s the \"theme\" I guess, of your posts that gets to me. You want to team to succeed and so do I. You think we should fire \'em all, cut the QB, and start over I guess. I disagree...mostly because I don\'t think Brooks is the idiot you think he is. I think I\'m looking a bit deeper than you, quite honestly. You\'d really rather have Kitna? You don\'t think dropped passes are a problem? You think our line is fine or would be better if there was a different QB?

To defend Brooks doesn\'t mean I don\'t acknowlege his bone-headed play at times, but I\'m ALSO willing to see the bone-headed play of our receivers at times, and the bone-headed play of our O-Line too.

C'mon Man...

RSanders, now part of what ypu said I agree with. Brooks has never really had a mentor here in New Orleans. I don\'t recall how long he was under Favre in Green Bay but it had to be at least a year right? How much better of a mentor does he need? Then we had Blake, who was 7-4 as our starter, and we get rid of him so Leon will have no competition. So maybe what you are misunderstanding is, I have no problem agreeing that Brooks may have not had the best help in becoming better. I will go so far as to say that seeing how lots of talent seems to come in and hardly anyone gets better, the Saints overall have a problem with developing players. But now we have had 5 years of an under-developed(if you wanna go that route) talented player. How much longer are we gonna stick with that? Do you honestly think Volek couldn\'t be better? GO look at his passer rating and then look at AB\'s. Then go look at his receivers and look at AB\'s. I would take our receivers over the ones Volek was working with any day of the week, even though Derrick Mason is a star. So basically if you are telling me that all the time AB has been here he has not been properly taught, which I agree with, why would ou ever think it was gonna get better? Why? Did they bring in someone I didn\'t hear about? AB doesn\'t seem to be that intelligent anyway, and he is past the presumed window for a learning curve for a qb. What makes you think now he will get any better? For the Saints, we better get someone in here who already knows how to play, cause with this staff, they ain\'t developing nobody. So basically by saying how under-developed AB\'s skills are, you have made my point. Why are we holding on to him? Trade him while he has value. Better? Kitna, Volek. Willing to let come in and compete, McMahon and Garrard. Draft, Smith.

saintsfan, I will just say I disagree. I was told how it goes by another member, so I will let you have your argument. I disagree and hope you have a great day.

Oh yeah ... can\'t blame Rdox or whodi for that one, I think I started calling him Leon.

Anyway, isn\'t fair to call me \"a Randy Moss act.\" I haven\'t ever wiped my arse on a goalpost. A doorknob or public telephone, perhaps, but NEVER a goalpost...

Incidentally, I heard on ESPN radio that the actor who portrays Leon (the real one, not AB) has signed a movie deal. They didn\'t say what the movie would be, or even if he was gonna play the \"Leon\" role, but I\'m hoping so.

:P

Oh! But how wrong you are! The only reason that I call him Leon is because he and Randy Moss are EXACTLY alike. Smartass, selfish, crass, and low class. And, trust me, I would be happy to call him Leon to his face. I\'ll make you a deal, I\'ll stop calling Brooks-Leon when he has guts enough to leave town or face up to his part in the creation of a mediocre team.

And, by the way, please don\'t tell me what is and is not cowardice. When you\'ve walked in my shoes for a while then we\'ll talk. And don\'t ever think that I won\'t say something to someone\'s back that I wouldn\'t say to his face. I think that Brooks is sorry, as a football player, and as a man.

Any Questions?????

Sorry RDOX but AB is nothing like Randy Moss and I think you know it. If you are a Saint fan you would also know that he is the best QB in Saints history(stat wise)likeability would go to Archie.
A 2004 recipient of the Humanitarian Award given by the National Football Quarterback Club,
Sporting News recognized AB for HIS development of the Read to Achieve Program which motivates kids to read in N.O. and AB received the NFL Good Guy Award also by Sporting News.

And now RDOX comes along and says \"he is a smartass, selfish, crass, and low class.\" Somebody got him wrong and I don\'t think you know AB at all.

What he is however is our QB and is the best QB we have ever had and that\'s a fact, Jack. But on the field, he is one of eleven.

Here is one for you. I think if we had Peyton here, we would have a worst record.
