Apparently the cost of pretending to moon a group of cheeseheads has its price.

FOXSports.com has learned the league has fined Vikings wide receiver Randy Moss $10,000 for his controversial taunt of the Lambeau crowd this weekend.

After scoring a fourth-quarter touchdown Moss pretended to drop his pants, moon the crowd and then rubbed his backside against the goalpost.

The league didn't want to hit Moss with a major fine or suspension out of concern that such a move would simply bring more attention to an ugly incident, one that NFL execs hope just goes away.

What\'s sad is that Moss only gets a 10K fine for that horses--t, and Lynch gets fined 75K for doing his job. Sure the WR was unprotected and Lynch hit him real hard, and probably led with his head, but a split decision in a football game is different to me than what Moss did. That was intentional and required some forethought. Sad.

Honestly, I am upset they fined him at all. He pretended to moon them, which we all know now the Pack fans do to them EVERY time they leave Lambeau, and they do it bare assed. Also, he didn\'t rub his crack on the pole, he kinda wiggled back and forth on it and his teammates jumped in. Once I found out the Lambeau fans do it to them, I saw it as him getting some payback. It didn\'t hurt anyone. True, he\'s a player and he shouldn\'t do it, but we are all human. I know if I am playing ball and someone is heckling me all day I am gonna shove it in their face when I do something. Human nature. Especially if it has been going on for years. How long can you hold that in? Lynch coulda paralyzed that guy with that hit, a lot different from rubbing some opposing fans\' celebration back in their faces. Just my two cents.

People still don\'t get it. Am I missing something? :(
The moon wasn\'t offensive, that was somewhat funny.
Flossing his crack up and down the goalpost is what was vile, disgusting and offensive.
I must be missing something. Did anyone not see that part?

Funny as your statement is Danno I didn\'t see the \"flossing of any crack.\" I saw him rub his fanny on the pole, back and forth, twice. Didn\'t look all that bad to me. It was more more cheek than crack is what I am saying.

I saw flossage. ;)

What would have been over the line to you?

Had he actually shown any part of his ass, had he actually went up and down on the pole instead of left to right(that woulda been crack flossing), had he brought in midgets and circus freaks, I would have drawn the line. Can\'t have that in football. :P

Anybody remember what Horn got tagged with for the great \"Cell Phone\" incident?

30K I think. A LOT more than 10K.

Now THAT disgusts me. But they will explain it off by calling Joe\'s pre-meditated, even though it was infinitely more creative and definitely less crass. But I am a person who thinks no celebrations should be banned so........

Figures. What Joe did might not have been sportsman like, but wat Moss did was just vulgar. I guess it was because Joe actually used a prop for his little party, but still, the level or difference between the two fines doesn\'t make much sense to me.

He never \'\'flossed his butt\'\' on the goalpost...he faked mooning people..then started dancing..bumped into the goalpost...and was quickly joined in celebration by his teamates...that\'s it..there was no up and down flossing action at all...he recieved a minor fine..because..unlike the hit lynch gave..he wasn\'t risking anyone\'s health as a player...or ability to perform...

I don\'t think there\'s anyway to condone Moss\' behavior based on the ill-conceived behavior of some Green Bay fans. Moss is suppossed to be a professional, but certainly knows he\'s on TV. The other morons are not (on tv. I don\'t know about their careers). Bottomline is that the GB fans\' wrong does not make Moss\' action right.

As far as the flossing goes, I didn\'t see it like that. I had read a couple posts on this site before I saw video of the incident and was expecting much worse than that.

Check this out......i agree with you. didn\'t Joe get fined 30k?

You know I did not see the incident because I was in bed with a killer hangover that didn\'t go away till 6pm. I must say though this is kind of getting too much attention. I mean it is sort of like putting too much ice in a beverage of your choice and after awhile it becomes too watered down that it is uninteresting. next flavor of pop please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. The Artest incident was the latest flavor of soda pop. Before the Moss incident that is.

I\'ve seen fans grab their crotch, and flip the bird at opponents too.
I guess it would be ok for all NFL players to do that also.

I\'ve seen fans throw batteries at players.
I guess you think its OK for the players to throw batteries into the stands huh?

Its not too hard to tell from this topic what the approximate age of everyone is.

What does age have to do with anything? Do you generally have to be insulting when someone disagrees with you Danno? I think is the second time I asked you that. Some of us just don\'t have a stick up our arse and aren\'t insulted by everything we see on tv. You could go protest wrestling. You ever see how many kids there are in the stands and the stuff they show? I saw they were recently at the Lakefront arena too. Did you protest any kids going in or about the half naked men and ladies that perform? It was a retaliation to pack fans. Pack fans I speak to weren\'t even insulted case they know they do it. I can\'t speak for anyone else but I am 29. If I was 17, wouldn\'t make my opinion any less valuable. Did Moss mooning the crows physically harm anyone? That\'s what a battery would do. Quit with the insults dude. It isn\'t necessary.

Pot, meet kettle.
You\'ve done this quite a bit over the last week and you just got a taste of your own medicine.
I do that a lot. It gets my point across rather well.

Please show me one place where I have insulted someone and I will apologize to them right now. I make it a point NEVER to insult someone no matter how much I disagree with them. If that helps you get your point across, your point isn\'t very strong.

It\'s funny to me that someone I asked twice in the last two days why he has to insult people when they disagree tries to say I insult people and he is \"giving me a taste of my own medicine.\" I may be sarcastic, or even an ass at times, but I don\'t insult people. And if they feel I insulted them, I apologize. How does insulting someone help get your point across?

Here\'s one for my righteous indignation file:

Horn gets fined $30k for a premeditated act (cell phone) that wasn\'t, as far as I\'m concerned, insulting to anybody. Moss gets only $10k for sundays embarassment and he has a history:

Quote:

The NFL said Moss was fined more than the minimum because this isn\'t the first time he has been disciplined for unsportsmanlike conduct. He paid a $25,000 penalty in 1999 for squirting an official with a water bottle.
http://msn.foxsports.com/story/3321252

Even that offense didn\'t draw as much of a fine as Horn\'s? The NFL is just plain not a fan of the Saints and tries to knock us down everytime we try to stand.

Last chance, chill or this one is locked too. Get back to the subject. Danno and saintswhodi get a grip and quit this bickering. If you disagree then disagree, just stop this foolishness. Brings to mind a couple of 3rd graders.

Who you callin\' 3rd Grader old man?!?! LOL. ;)

How much did TO get fined for the Sharpie incident? If it\'s less than $30,000 then I completely agree with Scotty\'s conspiracy theory.
