But you know, make it Fiedler and a 2nd-rounder and I\'d be listening...
I would too. The Saints are going to be hard pressed to get much for Brooks from anyone who has a VCR and can watch the tape. A 2nd and a player at a TOP 5 or 7 need position sounds pretty good to me.

The Rumors in Miami

NOLA 01/07/05
Saints offensive coordinator Mike McCarthy has emerged as a candidate for offensive coordinator positions in Chicago, Detroit, Jacksonville and Miami.
Haslett said three clubs have sought permission to interview McCarthy, but he denied their requests until he is able to sort out the staff\'s future in New Orleans. McCarthy is under contract with the Saints until March.

---sort it out Haz quick! give us some hope.

any of you not exactly hoping the very best for saban after leaving our fair land? McCarthy leading with Feeley or a rookie wouldn\'t be too evil of a wish would it?

Isn\'t McCarthy the one responsible for bringing Leon here in the first place? Maybe Haslett will let him go and he\'ll take Leon with him again.

Yeah, LKelley, it would be priceless to see Saban trying to win games with McCarthy and - god help him - Leon or Feeley running the offense. I\'ll say it again, Saban may have truly lost his mind.

You know, the more I think about this one, the more I like it. Trade AB for Fiedler and a 2nd rounder. We\'re trading with the Dolphins, so that 2nd rounder is gonna be a good one (35th, 36th overall?). Plus, we dump Leon and his ridiculous contract to obtain a capable (and lower priced) veteran in Jay Fiedler. The money saved can be used for more pressing needs, and Fiedler can run the show while a young successor is groomed (Kingsbury? Maybe a draftee?). This could really work...

First of all, the Dolphins don\'t have a 2nd round pick any more because they traded it last year for A.J. Feely and if they did they would probably trade it to Buffalo for Henry. I doubt that the Saints would make a trade for him when his stats or gameplay isn\'t any better than Brooks.

Some of you have to be the dumbest people on this earth if you think they will make that trade... My goodness..... JAY FEIDLER
LOL!

In two of his only seven posts or so, Dirtysaintz has managed to call me {quote} \"idiot\" in the McKenzie thread, and here one of the {quote} \"dumbest people on this earth.\"

Aww, you\'re gonna hurt my feelings...

Anyway, I don\'t think Fiedler\'s any more or less a \"bum\" than Aaron Brooks ... but he\'s probably a cheaper one. That was my point. If that\'s an unpopular opinion, I guess I\'m just a stupid moron...

Gonna go play with my monkey now ... :dancingmonkey:

If it were to happen..the main concern for me would be the likely hood of Feidler getting injured..he is very injury prone..I think he has had a few concussions..and with our leaky Offensive Line...he would stand the risk of literally getting knocked plumb silly...

His ability is very comparable to most of the upper- middle QB\'s , when he\'s healthy , and has a running game to rely on...

i \'m just not sure of the chances of success we would have with him behind center..in all honesty..I\'d rather have Brooks..
