Of course you sign him. You keep him until you obtain a better option, or he gets beat out in camp.

He won't get paid unless he makes the team. He won't make the team if we acquire a better option.

I don't know why people think just because we sign a player that we won't explore better options as well.

If I remember correctly we've signed a young kicker already to a futures contract. Also, we are not adverse to spending a late rounder on a kicker. This is one of many positions to be addressed this offseason.

Not having a kicker with a strong leg changes Paytons approach to play calling. We really need someone who can make a kick from over 50 yards when Drew throws deep on third and one if it's incomplete. And with our deep speed we'll see that a lot more this year I would imagine.

We need to sign a kid on the cheap for the hometown discount that snuck through waivers before any other team's player personnel director knew he existed!
