Re: Fowler Jr. likes Rob Ryan's scheme.

Fowler is starting to grow on me. I like the fact that he's versatile and a 6'3" 260 lb. athletic linebacker sounds better than a 230 lb. tweeter who can't defend the run.

Re: Fowler Jr. likes Rob Ryan's scheme.

I've watched tape on this guy and the first thing that jumped out at me is how quick he gets into the backfield for a guy listed at 260 pounds.

He gets to the QB in a hurry and looks to be relentless in pursuit, I like that trait in a defender.

I would not be disappointed if he was our pick.

So you're OK with ignoring ILB, CB and OL?

I've got a feeling we may address at least one of those spots in free agency.

I'd like us to address ILB in the draft with someone like Denzel Perryman but I guess it will come down to BPA always!

Re: Fowler Jr. likes Rob Ryan's scheme.

sorry i can get so giddy about jumping on this band wagon still

oh yeah he can fill up a high light reel but it the crap edited out that worries more. dude stands around a lot and show little effort in back side pursuit.

I red flag his motor and overall desire.

6'3" 260 is not that big to play DE in a 34. 43 all day

Just get Brandon Scherff or La'el Collins and be done with it

Re: Fowler Jr. likes Rob Ryan's scheme.

Scherff demonstrated less than impressive work on the bench press and pulled a muscle running the 40 and was unable to perform other drills which leads to the question, can this guy play 16 games?

Fowler has a questionable motor, took off waaay too many plays...

Re: Fowler Jr. likes Rob Ryan's scheme.

He hasnt missed a game in two years and only missed the games in college when recovering from a dislocated ankle and broken fibula. Its not like he has a long history of injuries preventing play.

He didn't impress me on the bench either, looked weak. I would want a bulldozer if we would take an O-lineman at 13. I pass.
