Most GB coaches/fans may argue that AJ's best playing days are behind him.

Didnt he want him in the draft?.

Not sure why but my stomachs rumbling and its either me reading coaches mind or my cheese and marmite sandwich repeating in me

Seems to me like Hawthorne would be the more obvious one to get rid of, which we may still do, but replacing Lofton could be quite a task. A decent draft pick as compensation would be good though provided that we don't blow it on some unheard of borderline draftable O-Lineman like we do every year.

Wow. I didn't see that coming......I'll bet Lofton didn't either.

Unless.....we talked to him about a restructure and he said no.

Hmmm.........berry berry interesting.(Laugh In reference)

I'd rather proven commodity over potential when it comes to players that are already in the NFL

Kiko Alonso in his rookie year played like pro bowl LB. If that trade fails (shady is hot happy at all) I'll go after Kiko (he doesn't want to stay in Buffalo).

I don't think Hawthorne is tradable, he has been a massive let down since he came here.

Lofton at least has some trade weight, no one wants Hawthorne when they notice how many tackles he misses or coverages he blows.

Re: Lofton being shopped?

very dubious & speculative

Lofton will cost us $9 mill if he plays, or $5 mill if he goes
So are we going to find a better player for $4 mill just to break even?

and:
The team could save $2.25 million by converting that to a signing bonus, leaving $7 million against the cap.

That would be my concern as well...if you take the 5 mil hit then that only gives you 4 or less if we are trying to save cap space...and the weakest link is still there in Hawthorne...so then what?

If they are willing to take the cap hit then to me it appears they will draft an ILB, immediate starter on a rookie pay scale.

No way, my guess is they like someone in FA or the Draft. Why replace Lofton with a slower older version? I think they want younger, faster blood at the LB position. Perryman perhaps?
