Brodrick Bunkley, Jamarca Sanford back with Saints

New Orleans Saints defensive tackle Brodrick Bunkley restructured his contract.
And safety Jamarca Sanford has reached a one-year deal to stay with the Saints. He played in six games last season.
Bunkley lowered his base salary from $4.4 million by nearly $3 million.
Bunkley also restructured his deal in 2014.

Listening to a podcast yesterday,apparently the run defense was ranked in the top 10/15 until Bunkley got hurt.


Jenkins need to start showing up (i know he was hurt) but un worried those reports out of college about suspect work ethic and weight could prove true. At least we have filled a hole,cant fill them all in a year

Sanford can't be over 5"9. He hustles so whatever. I wonder what our plans are for Vaccarro. I've been his main detractor from day 1. He doesn't seem like the type who'll respond well to being benched. That's some cap room we could save. Why don't we trade Vaccarro? or cut him?

Because trading Vaccaro would save us a grand total of 46,790 this year and only 1.3ml next year. He deserve another year. He was coming off a bad injury last year and its not like he was the only or even the biggest issue last year. It cant have helped going from playing with two vets who knew the playbook to playing with a new saftey and then multiple partners over the remaining of the season.

I want a stud NT still. Bunkley has played o.k. at times but he still lacks pure penetration.
