2015 New Orleans Saints: Roster Outlook

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Bryce Harris could take Strief's LT spot, Lelito not guaranteed anything the way it looks. I hope the Ellerbe thing works out but it's one thing to pass a physical its a totally different ball game being able to play. ...

Strief is actually the RT, but not sure Harris could wrest the top spot on the depth chart...

It may be painful to watch Strief out in space on screens or run plays, but he's a big, powerful man that is very effective pass-blocking...

Curious of the conditions of the trade for Dannell Ellerbe, specifically what would happen if he were to fail a physical?!?

Even before all the drama, we're really thin (depth) in the defensive front seven...

We've got more than enough competition at the safety positions, hope it translates to better play on the field...

We've got to sign another offensive lineman, before the draft...

Re: 2015 New Orleans Saints: Roster Outlook

Five questions:

Maybe he just wasn't a Center, but Is Tim Lelito our 2015 Starting Left Guard?!?

By my count, at least six (6) roster spots, is all of this coming by way of the draft?!?

Our ILB situation looks bleak with Ellerbe, Humber and Hawthorne, are we going to draft two ILBs?!?

Are we really counting on Brandon Browner to play a full season, plus post-season?!?

Does Jarius Byrd's reworked contract prohibit trading him, will he be another non-motivated, content?!?

I think Tim is going to be given the shot to take the position. We could use some depth for sure.

I dont think we are finished making moves. I would be surprised if we went into the draft with 6 openings to be filled with rookies.

I know we usually draft bpa but I see no way we dont address it within the top 3 picks.

Dont think we can count on Browner for 16 games. The guy plays all out and that tends to lead to injuries. We have to address it.

Dont forget about us getting Dennis Allen back. He is a great DB coach. Byrd is a good player. With Dennis Allen's influence, I believe he gets back to form.

Re: 2015 New Orleans Saints: Roster Outlook

Lelito did an interview on the New Orleans NBC Affiliate and while he was very humble, he said he was eager to compete for the left guard position, the position he played in college and that he felt more comfortable playing...

Stay tuned...

Re: 2015 New Orleans Saints: Roster Outlook

They did put a lot of escalators into Browner's contract in the case he plays most if not all of the games in the season, so at least there's monetary incentive for him to try and stay healthy whether it be through physical preparedness or choices he makes during games.
