Offseason: Trades/moves still to come.

Easy guess is Rafael Bush. Should save almost $2million with no dead money. Depth at safety makes him expendable. Pierre Warren filled in nicely, but i do like Rafael. Tough times. 4th-6th rounder imo.

Re: Offseason: Trades/moves still to come.

Can't wait to see what else we have cookin'... Rafael Bush is a pretty good guess. The Failclowns liked him enough last offseason to try making him their starter before we kept him so maybe another team out there is high on him too.

Re: Offseason: Trades/moves still to come.

I could see that happening.
It makes sense seeing as everone knows we will draft Landon Collins in the first (lol).

I like him but he is a good safety and a backup that can clear cap space.

Wouldn't be surprised if it was Jodan or Evans though either. Both open plenty of cap space

Re: Offseason: Trades/moves still to come.

Lol o gosh. I would just turn off the tv & leave the room if they drafted a safety haha!

Exactly...i wanna say id be shocked if they traded Cam, but i could definitely see it with this offseason craziness. Jahri is a top candidate as well. That Botched Pro Bowl nomination He received could help in trade talks tho lol, good stuff. Baby Rhino, Akiem Hicks wouldnt be a surprise either...

We'll see.

Re: Offseason: Trades/moves still to come.

I like Kenny but if we could trade him for a true SS i wouldn't be against the idea.

Didn't somebody on here say he has bulked up over the offseason?

Re: Offseason: Trades/moves still to come.

I personally like Kenny, one great year followed by one poor year. Wanna see how he responds. But id understand it. Yea i heard that, i dont remember who said it.

Id like to see what SJB could do in that role. Hope he catches on this year.

I would like to see SJB in that roll also. He has the size and speed with good hands. Looking at his college tapes he hits like a truck. I could see Vaccaro on the block.

Re: Offseason: Trades/moves still to come.

Vaccaro will bounce back. The kid is a football player. If we can have a healthy Byrd, Vaccaro, Lewis and Browner that is a very solid secondary.

I can see Evans getting the Grubbs treatment. We have stocked up on picks and getting solid guards in the draft is an easier task than many other positions. We can fill up our OL depth with cheaper vets and picks.

If we go to a 3-4, I see Jordan gone. And what about that high dollar FB Lorig? He wasn't even good last season for that type of money he got. Johnson outplayed him hands down.

Re: Offseason: Trades/moves still to come.

Gotta be someone another team wants. Bush won't draw much.

My guess is its either Strief, Jordan or Galette.

I would like Strief to stay at least another year, he played well enough to earn his keep. In a way I would hate to lose our 1 trick pony JR. although he needs to learn how to contain ,he still gets to the qb. Jordan fits a 4-3 but to light to play up front in a 3-4.

Re: Offseason: Trades/moves still to come.

Strief costs us $1.2ml to trade in dead money and the thought of 4 new o - linemen in one offseason isnt comforting.

Cam Jordan offers the biggest cap relief and there is no telling if he is here next year either way.
Evans offers a good saving and dead money.

Vacarro has a nice saving a some good value (maybe giants 2nd rounder?).

Bush should get 5th imo,he has a low cap hit for any team and is better than anything youll find in the draft. Low risk/high reward.

One contract that needs sorting is Moorstead. I like the guy but cap hits of 4ml+ for the next few years for a PUNTER. Id pay that for Morten Andersen or Gostowski,a player that can win you games with 50+ yard field goals but a PUNTER no thanks

Im not saying he isnt good he is and gets great length and hieght stopping return yardage but thats alot of cap for a punter

Strief is not going anywhere. He will retire a Saint. I think Vaccaro gets another chance. The entire defense was unmotivated last year.

Agree with Moorstead, a restructuring is definitely in order.

Re: Offseason: Trades/moves still to come.

Hope it's Strief. He used to be the weak link on the OL until last year's OG/C disaster.

Won't mind if it's Jordan if we get good value. Trading JR would be great but it looks doubtful another team would pony up the dollars vs the risk.

Losing nice, dependable, inexpensive Rafael Bush would be a mistake. Same reason I expected us to keep PT.

Who knows? Who woulda thought we'd trade Stills especially after Jimmy? Expect Brees to be traded next year.

cutting your nose off in spite of your face is never a good idea. we are close to that point now.

i hope they are laying the ground during the draft more than anything else.

draft a spot then trade from that spot

Evans for sure.

Trading Vacarro and/or Raphael Bush...

Re: Offseason: Trades/moves still to come.

I'm actually dizzy trying to think about all the possibilities.........I think Vaccaro has the highest ceiling so I want to keep him. Do we really want to move Bush just to get a fourth rounder? I would happily give him up for a third round draft pick. That would give us three picks in the third.

Forget about the cap. Stop thinking about the cap. The cap is meaningless with Loomis. Every offseason is the same thing: cap cap cap cap cap. And every offseason, Loomis makes the cap his *****.

Re: Offseason: Trades/moves still to come.

Unless he wants to do Brees contract which will screw up next years plans you still have to be careful with dead money

This trade talk gives me a headache.

Kenny V. will drastically improve under Dennis Allen.

A good defense always starts with a good punt.

I'd like us to sign Greg Jennings and Mason Foster, then I think the rest can be done in the draft!

I'd rather have an average Punter and an excellent LB, OG, DT, DE, FS, SS, or OT.

If we're gonna tank we needa tank as hard as possible. Unless Bree's restructures.

The word "tanking" needs to stay on Falcons Life... I'd rather the Saints go 2-14 trying their damnedest than to "tank" for whatever reason

Thats a British thing with sports.
I say it often though i try not to on here so much. The fans are viewed as part of the team,so when discussing things it's we.

"What was the score last night"
"We won 35-14"

It's the same here too. My point was who is going to intentionally quit? These guys are fighting for their careers, and all 32 teams see the game film.

Show me a player who tanks and I'll show you a guy I'm looking to replace next year.

I wouldn't wait that long to replace him.
