Most intriguing is that, during this bloodletting, New Orleans has also stockpiled the NFL's most powerful currency: draft picks. The Saints now have nine for this year, including two in the first round and two in the third. That gives them tremendous flexibility -- to move up in the first round, to trade back and accumulate more picks, to parlay these picks into more for future years. Those are critical assets for the longer-term future of the roster. But it also means that whatever identity the Saints emerge from this offseason with will be the one they are invested in for at least a few years. Loomis/SP are masters of finding raw talent in the bargain bin of the draft. Their picks in upper rounds have been.... "meh". Need to get that "Draft for Dummies" book out because a hot 2015 draft could reinvigorate the organization.

Extreme? I don't think so.

The only extreme change was Graham, and we received an all-pro Center and a 1st round pick.

All of the other transactions involved aging, expensive or average players.

Nothing really extreme about that is there?

If it was up to them, we wouldn't be allowed to field a team because we are supposedly a franchise without a plan!
