There is no easy way to figure out comp picks.
Here's the most basic way to look at it:
We signed Byrd and Lorig
we lost DLP, Jenkins and Brown.
net-net on salaries + we lost one more than we gained, so we get one pick at the lowest tier. As Brown is the lowest of the lowest, we get the last 7th round pick.
trades and cuts don't figure in

If Godhell has to give us a comp pick you know it's going to be the very last pick of the draft. Meanwhile these other big market teams get their picks awarded in the third and fourth round. I'm calling B.S.
