The type of draft you build a team around

No, not this year's draft, although that has a real good possibility, but the 2010 draft... apparently we have 0 people left on the team from the '10 draft

Wow, that's depressing to look at our draft picks since 2006 at the bottom of the page.

Far too many disappointments to list....

Really! I saw the title and was going to ask if you'd change it to "The type of scouts who could build a team around the draft." It looks like you were already heading in that direction....

Really I was just trying to be a bit funny because it is so surprising.

New Orleans Saints have no one left from NFL Draft's 2010 class

After the trade of Jimmy Graham and the departure of Patrick Robinson in free agency, the New Orleans Saints can close the books on the 2010 NFL Draft.

None of the six players the Saints selected almost five years ago are still on the roster.

The Saints didn't win on every pick, but the one player they did connect on was a home run.

Graham, who was selected in the third round with the 95th pick overall, grew into one of the league's stars. In five years with the Saints he caught 386 passes for 4,752 yards and 51 touchdowns and was selected for three Pro Bowls.

He was sent to the Seattle Seahawks in a blockbuster trade earlier this month.

Robinson, the Saints' only first-round pick in the year after their Super Bowl victory, didn't meet high expectations and struggled with injuries at times. But he was at least a viable role player for parts of five seasons.

Offensive tackle Charles Brown, the team's second-round pick, started 22 times but lost his job at the end of the 2013 season. He signed with the New York Giants as a free agent and was waived last November.

Defensive tackle Al Woods, picked in the fourth round, lasted only a few months with the Saints, but has since played for four different NFL teams. He's currently on the Tennessee Titans roster.

It's especially disheartening when you look at the missed opportunities in 2007 and 2008.

If Loomis said that the good drafts hit on 60% of the picks (or something to that nature)... the Saints haven't had too many of those.

Poor drafts = need for high-priced FAs = problems with the salary gap and continuity.

can not hang your hat on a handful of diamonds in the rough and proclaim yourself a successful team in the draft.

one thing to draft them and have them stick it is another to map out a way to keep them down the road

How can our sorry assed record as far as draft choices go be a surprise? Our only saving grace seems to be somehow finding a diamond or two in the undrafted pile.
