Saints coach Sean Payton told Chris Myers of Fox Sports that the team is not interesting in trading quarterback Drew Brees.

When asked if it might be time to move on from Brees, who is 36, Payton said: "Yeah, it's not that time. ... We're not interest in moving on from Drew Brees."
In an interview with Chris Myers, Saints coach Sean Payton dispelled the notion that the team is shopping quarterback Drew Brees.
Since the Saints traded star tight end Jimmy Graham earlier this month, there have been rumors that New Orleans may be on the precipice of a full-scale rebuild. Payton dispelled the rumor that it might be time to move on from a 36-year-old quarterback who showed signs of decline last season.
"Yeah, it's not that time. ... We're not interested in moving on from Drew Brees," Payton said. "He's going to be a part of our next championship."

I saw the interview, and I liked his body language. I haven't seen it in him in a while. I think even Payton may have had a bit of a reality check last year, hopefully it will do him some good.

I would rank it as the #1 dumbest Saints move of all time. The tea leaves are saying he can play well for no less than 2-3 years, maybe more...who knows. Get him some real protection and he will shred just about any defense, even with his feeble arm as some claim. What would really help are receivers that don't need balls stuck in their effin helmet to catch it.

He definitely did not have the same fire last year as I have seen in him in past seasons.
