Hmmm, interesting. And with the rumors of Trestman (16 year veteran QB Coach and OC), I smell a move to bring in a veteran.

Having a 16 year veteran as your QB coach would make the transition to a new guy much easier.

Maybe this is what Haz meant when he demanded \"some changes need to be made\".

If Haz IS making that demand, and Brooks going is a part of that demand, or them trying to get something for him while they bring in a vet, I will retract at least 50% of the negative comments I have said about Haz. That would be bold and would be a move towards a new identity.

This would have been a great article if not for the following comment:

It hasn\'t been settled for me that getting behind early was his fault more than the OC\'s or the Ds. Lastly, this statement takes a negative connotation and completely ignores the positive. (I know, you\'re saying: What positive?) That is that AB is capable of putting up big yards even when the opposition is expecting it.

Before you bash me, understand this. If they can find a viable replacement and a rookie to groom, I\'m all for trading him.

I agree, sort of. I also find it odd that if was all stat padding, why is Joe Horn going to the pro-bowl? He\'s the main beneficiary of all that stat padding.
And if its all catch-up then any handoff to Deuce should result in a big play, since the other team is hanging back. Was Deuce even worse than we thought? Is Joe Horn over-rated?

But again, the complaints are about the wrong side of the ball.

I think they see it as stat padding because generally when your TEAM(gonna do this without assigning specific blame) fails to score in the first quarter of almost EVERY game, you are generally gonna find yourself behind or in a dogfight for an entire game. I am willing to bet that if we looked at a breakdown of AB\'s stats, the majority of the yards and TDs come in the second half while the majority of the INTs, bad plays, incompletions, come in the first half. Maybe that\'s what they went on. But with AB, who knows, it could be the complete opposite, but I doubt it.

seriously, wouldn\'t it be cool just to get rid of AB\'s contract. i dunno what it is for next year but it was $36mil for 6 yrs. just to get rid of that would free up some mulah to bid on a hasslebeck or holcomb. send him back to green bay from whence he came. heck, the browns would probably like to get rid of garcia as much. i could hack his goofiness as a different face straight across. oh, my franchised howard for franchised brees trade too.

The only way i would be in favor of getting rid of AB would be for Hasselback, but not for Kitna, Warner, or Holcomb :casstet:
