Discuss. Just nothing about qb. Let's go Danno.

I agree and in that order.

Derrick Johnson or Jammal Brown would be a steal! ;)

Agreed Venturi.

Danno where you at?

Tackles are my #1 concern. Gandy is getting older (& slower) and Riley is just gonna get fatter.

We can get a decent tackle in free agency. I would get a LT and move Gandy to the right for a year. And if it\'s not too big of a cap hit, cut Riley. Just terrible. But my number one need is a LB sized LB. Meaning a run stuffer and no more of these smallish guys. Watson will be good, but he too needs to get bigger and stronger.

Though I wouldn\'t mind keeping Gandy and moving him to RT, he\'d have to take a cut in pay. We need a premier LT and it\'s going to cost us. If he wont take a pay cut, I\'d like to see what Stinchy can do at RT. He can\'t be worse than Riley.

If Gandy moves to right for the year, he definitely needs to redo that contract. Help the rest of the team pal. Stinch can back up for another year unless Gandy just blows, then he gets in. Or unless Stinch has a major resurgence in the off season.

I think we need to make a good faith effort to address these positions in free agency.

In no particular order I\'d like to see us address these positions.

RT--Ryan Diem from the Colts. On the left side, I don\'t see anyone young enough to drop big money on. It\'s a crap shoot, but I\'d rather draft for a LT. Riley shouldn\'t be resigned and we should just take the cap hit on Gandy now.

NT--Seth Payne from the Texans. He\'s still relatively young and has been playing NT in a 3-4 since the Texans started. I\'m not sure he\'d be too expensive.

LB--Ed Hartwell or Adalious Thomas from the Ravens, or Will Witherspoon from the Panthers. I\'d rather not risk Kendrell Bell for huge money, but if he could be had cheap and come back healthy next year, it might be worth the risk to sign 2 LBs. I don\'t see Bell going cheap, but who knows?

S--I don\'t see anyone in free agency that is worth chasing down. This is my lowest priority position. If it really is a critical need we could probably get a guy who could start for us in round 3 or 4.

So basically, I\'d like to see us sign any combination of 2 players out of these 3 positions first: T, NT, LB. If we got Diem and Payne, Diem and Hartwell, Payne and Wtiherspoon, etc, then I\'d be positively giddy.

Seems to me that we need to sign 2 players out of these 3 positions to keep from being painted into a corner on draft day.

I think Riley is a UFA. I could be wrong. I also want the saints to get a quality OT either Ryan Diem, Walter Jones or Orlando Pace. I like Jammal Brown but if Mike Williams (wr), Marlin Jackson(cb), or Marcus Spears (DT) available I hope they get 1st consideration. I didn\'t mention Derrick Johnson(olb) cuz I can \'t invision him falling past #10.

I disagree with you guys on this one..The biggest need we have right now, In my opinion is the Safety...

Not that I don\'t agree that all the positions in question need to be addressed...they do...

But I would focus on getting young talent on the strong safety position..Jamaal Brimmer..is one of the best Defensive Players in the Draft thsi year..He is Highly underrated...and would be an absolute steal in the 2nd round..

The only good thing I can tell you about Johnson is..We will get to see him play twice a year..unfortunately, He will be playing for Tampa Bay..

Our 1st round pick will likely be Ahmad Brooks..which will be great...if we could get Brimmer with our 2nd..we will have the best draft we have had in years
