P.J. Williams agrees to deal with Saints
The Saints are down to two unsigned draft picks.
Cornerback P.J. Williams went on Instagram to post a picture of his contract signing, which leaves only first-round picks Andrus Peat and Stephone Anthony to put pen to paper on their rookie deals. Williams, who was selected in the third round, inked the standard four-year deal with the team. Williams made 24 starts at Florida State and was the MVP of the national title game when Florida State took the crown after the 2013 season. He was arrested on suspicion of DUI in early April, but the charges were dismissed before the draft. The Saints signed Brandon Browner as a free agent this offseason and he figures to start across from Keenan Lewis to open the 2015 season. That should allow Williams to get his feet wet at the NFL level in sub packages if he can earn snaps ahead of Kyle Wilson, Stanley Jean-Baptiste and Terrence Frederick. P.J. What does it say about SJB's status when all they have been doing all offseason is trying to replace him... Can you get him on the field at least!!!! Damn.... I know he is a project but how can you improve with no field time.... Hell, he should have been invited to rookie minicamp again... BTW last years draft was a cluster **** and a comedy of errors at the same time.
