But athleticism only gets you so far. He needs to have the technique and the mental part of the game down too.

Garrett Grayson looks more athletic than Drew Brees. Does that make him a better QB?

# Saints Sean Payton said NT Danny Shelton would have been pick if # Browns took Andrus Peat at No. 12.
Was Triplett speculating that Sean Payton spoke those words to him?

Yeah, but what if they had not taken Peat and did not take Shelton, Saints may have still taken Peat. I believe that is what he is saying.

I am not sold on peat till he proves he can handle the speed rush at the NFL level. he needs coaching on this aspect of his game. he will get there but how soon is the question. 1 camp? mid season? or next year?

either way as long as he is the first option of the bench i good with it. spot duty is not a concern in year one.

Which is why for now he's purely a RT prospect, and a damn good one.

I will not be remotely surprised if Strief starts at guard and Peat RT.
If Peat struggles, in comes Lelito and Zach takes two steps to his right.

See I think the opposite to start the season, at least.

LT - Armstead
LG - Lelito
C - Unger
RG - Evans
RT - Strief

If (when) Armstead or Strief misses time - and let's hope that's not for 8-10 games in - Peat is a plug and play without much drop off.
