Research Request: New Orleans Saints 1967 and 1979
 

One of our members, Andre' Carriere, who lives in California, is doing some research for a book about the 1967 and 1979 Saints. He wrote to me:

"Brothers, great work as always. I am researching a book about the 1967 and 1979 Saints. Any fans out there w/memories, stories, video, (esp. the redskins and the raiders games) would be much obliged. Have mercy on a brother out on the left coast."

Research Request: New Orleans Saints 1967 and 1979
 

I can\'t help, sorry. This is a little bit before I started watching the Saints. I teethed on the cowgirls until I grew up and learned better, more heartbreaking ways.

So, not knowing too much about Saints history, what is it about \'79 that\'s is so intriguing to write a book about? Is that the year they might have made the playoffs if not for the Rams or something? Obviously, I understand \'67.
