New Orleans Saints second-year outside linebacker Ronald Powell had two interactions with police during his college career at Florida that were highlighted in an ESPN report on Sunday.

Powell was not charged with a crime or arrested in either of the incidents described in the report.

...ESPN said Powell was given a trespass warning in October 2012 when he allegedly threatened a store owner "who wouldn't give him items for free in addition to others he had planned to purchase."

In 2014, after he had been drafted in the fifth round by the Saints, Powell was pulled over for a lane violation.

"The officer noted that the address on his driver's license was a known drug house," ESPN wrote. "A canine officer came to the scene and flagged a likely presence of narcotics in the car, and the investigating officer searched it, finding a white powdery substance on the driver's seat that she tested on site.

"The car was a rental, and the officer wrote in a police report that she did not believe the cocaine was Powell's but was likely tied to a known drug offender who lived at the same address. She let Powell go with a verbal warning for the lane violation."

Neither Powell nor his agent responded to requests for an interview, according to ESPN...

Guess it's a slow day at ESPN?!?

Wonder if Coach and Staff were aware of these isssues?

Idk but I hope he isn't involved in that stuff or with those people anymore.

Don't know about the drug thing but threatening a store owner because he wouldn't give him free stuff?? Luck that wasn't me is all I can say. This trend of lawlessness needs to be put to an end. Unfortunately it looks like it's gonna have to come the hard way.

If Galette wasn't gonna most likely be out for the season I don't think Powell would've made the roster.
