Source: 10 total teams put a waiver claim in on TE Tim Wright. TB, NYJ, CHI, ATL, CLE, NO, MIA, KC, PIT, DET. Bucs had 1st priority.

A former wide receiver at Rutgers, Wright flashed NFL-caliber "move" tight end ability when he posted 54-571-5 for the Bucs in 2013. The Patriots gave up stud guard Logan Mankins to acquire him a year ago, but he was often an innocent bystander late in the year (10 snaps in three playoff games). Scott Chandler will move forward as Rob Gronkowski's backup, with rookie AJ Derby and blocker Michael Hoomanawanui also in the mix. Wright, who is subject to waivers, should garner interest as a cheap pass-catching tight end. He's scored 11 touchdowns across the last two seasons.

He's 6'4" and 220.

Makes sense... We're pretty damn thin at TE. Who knows if Josh Hill can be the #1 TE for a full season and Ben Watson is pretty limited at this point. I guess this makes the Gresham signing more immenent.

I'm one of the people who bit on the Josh hill hype. He's done very well in limited action without much attention. We'll see how he does in the lime light.

What is up within our division? Everyone Is bringing in new talent. I thought our division was a cake walk.....new coaches bringing in new talent. What is up with that? (rhetorical question)

Maybe because we don't really have a #3 TE at the moment with any playing experience?? Same reason we're interested in Jermaine Gresham.
