Report: 2013 video shows Saints LB Junior Galette hitting woman with belt
By John Breech | CBSSports.com June 20, 2015 4:21 pm ET New Orleans Saints linebacker Junior Galette could be in hot water with the NFL soon after it was revealed on Saturday that he was one of several people involved in a 2013 fight that was posted to YouTube... In the video, a man believed to be Galette is shown hitting a woman with a belt... The New Orleans Times-Picayune reported on Saturday that not only is Galette one of the men in the video, but the NFL is aware of the video's existence and knows that Galette was involved in the melee... According to ESPN.com, the Saints are the ones who actually sent the video to the NFL... The video was posted to YouTube in March 2013, but at the time, no one in the video had been identified... Galette might avoid NFL punishment for the January incident, but it will be interesting to see how the league reacts to a violent video that's over two year's old... One logical reason why the Saints would be sharing this video would be to trigger some sort of moral clause in his contract. If this is the fact then the Saints could vacate some or all of his cap hit ... maybe even the current year's.

Same clothes? Check Same glasses? Check Same shoes? Check Friend in hat in IG and Video? Check Friend in blue shirt in IG and Video? Check Impossible to defend it. Hitting the dudes maybe you get away with a drunk brawl at the beach. Hitting the girl? Not going to get away with that one. OK so we all agree I think it's him and we are all likely done defending him and trying to keep him on the team. SO, what do you do with him with a contract that prevents you from cutting him? Hope he gets suspended and we get the same roster spot back that Goodell gave the Panthers when Hardy was suspended? That's about the best scenario I can think of. |
